Brings to mind the line about how Teddy Roosevelt, how he always wanted to be "the corpse at every funeral, the bride at every wedding and the baby at every christening.”

Re: Ron Cameron
I finished the podcast today. Man, that guy should really have a stand by as a back up guest. Maybe he should bring back the old SCTV skit Bowling for Dollars, where Ron can call a random telephone number and start talking to them.
When the producer chimed in about the Tigers attendance, didn’t he sound like Roberto from 97.1? It’s no way it’s him, but I found it humorous.
That guy that called in, can’t remember his name, use to call Ron on WDFN. It was like two old guys meeting at the bar. It’s like my fireside chat comment. When they guy said he found him on Roku, Ron had no idea what that was, and referred the guy to listen him on 101.5 or 1400. Clearly the guy figured out he can listen on Roku.

Re: Ron Cameron
Any chance that Ron was able to make contact again with John V. & that he'll be on this week? It saddens me to think we'll never know his greatest thrill. Or if he knows any of the people about whom Ron has stories. Or whether he agrees that Gordie's the GOAT.

Those "old buddy" calls are always fun, no matter what the topic. His unique life has put him contact with a lot of different kinds of people.windsorjoe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 13, 2022 9:08 pmThat guy that called in, can’t remember his name, use to call Ron on WDFN. That Roku option has worked out well for me. I can relax in my living room in the afternoon with a book or old movie or TV show and then switch to Ron on the Audacy app at 6 p.m. Often I watch the end of Love Boat on MeTV before switching, which means that I stay on the same intellectual level when I switch to Ron.

It’s funny how we all have a Sunday night routine with Ron, it’s kind of like a Sunday night fire side chatBobbert wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 11:47 amThose "old buddy" calls are always fun, no matter what the topic. Early preview for Sunday
Looking forward to when Mr positive asks Ron if the Easter bunny was good to him

Re: Ron Cameron
That’s very funny. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Ron was unaware that Sunday is Easter. In 2020, Kurt predicted that the Covid-affected baseball season would begin around Memorial Day. Ron said, “When’s that?”Majik wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:51 pmAnd Ron replying, “I never met him”radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:12 pmEarly preview for Sunday

And it would not surprise me if Scoop didn’t know when his own birthday is.Momo wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 5:37 pmThat’s very funny. Re: Ron Cameron
If my memory serves me correct, didn't Kurt say a couple of weeks ago that his birthday is 4/17 (this Sunday)? I wonder if Kurt or Mr. Anniversary (Cowboy) brings it up?
Re: Ron Cameron
I think you’re right. And, born in 1953, he’ll be 69. It’s interesting that, for all his calls, for all his interest in Ron, Kurt has never acknowledged the (Mr. Positive) oft-mentioned Buzzboard. Is he so busy researching the history of baseball that he’s never had the opportunity to sample what we have to offer?! I hope Mr. Positive will extend birthday greetings on our behalf, along with an invitation to the Buzzboard, where Ron reigns supreme.
Re: Ron Cameron
I've gotten into a habit where I listen to the first hour through my TV, then dinner at 7, and my Sunday night movie at 8. I then listen to the last two hours on Friday morning, which was always my favorite time to listen to him on WPON. Of course it's not the same without Ron's humorous repartee with Martin.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 3:11 pmIt’s funny how we all have a Sunday night routine with Ron, it’s kind of like a Sunday night fire side chatBobbert wrote: ↑Thu Apr 14, 2022 11:47 amThose "old buddy" calls are always fun, no matter what the topic. I wonder if RC will comment about Mike Bossy dying of lung cancer.
