Ugh. That simply reminds me how long Ive hated Bernie and his schtick.

When they devoted more than 4 minutes to sports, the internet didn't exist, and mullets were socially acceptable, they were a cute way to end the segment. Now, it *is* the segment and has become a caricature of itself.

I'd say get rid of sports, but WDIV would gleefully fill the open air time with more commercials and promos.

How long until Bernie retires? I've never understood why people pretend to like him. He does bare minimum "reporting" and even that is less than mediocre.

The only thing I can think of is he has blackmail material on someone. His shtick grew old a good 15 years ago and that might be a conservative estimate. The anchors must have it written into their contract " must laugh hysterically at Bernie jokes".

If be fine with Jamie taking over all of Bernie's responsibilities, especially all of his on-air time. She is looking great these days and seems to do a pretty good job reporting on the local teams.
