Re: Ron Cameron
Went in to the dialed in Detroit Facebook page, saw some old clips and one of the callers…cowboy!
Re: Ron Cameron
It was a nice gesture for Mark to identify & acknowledge Luke’s role last night. Those listening who weren’t on the Board would’ve otherwise had no idea, as, per usual, Ron would never be so generous. And, also per usual, Ron could only try to tamp down any kind of praise by talking about Luke “getting a big head.” If there’s an equivalent Irving Thalberg award for humanitarianism in radio, Ron continues to be an also-ran.
Re: Ron Cameron
As a reviewer of this thread, Mark had to get that Phil Regan question.

Re: Ron Cameron
Hope they do, it was a interesting mix of callers this week and Denny McLain who called in and sounded a bit off
Re: Ron Cameron
Mark wants it both ways. He told us for about the 10,000th time that the Pistons haven't won a playoff game since 2008. What they're trying to do now can't be any worse than what they've tried the last 14 years.
Re: Ron Cameron
I didn’t hear any of the show live this past weekend, I’m wondering if Ron was still reading the ad for the bar at the hotel (he may be staying at?) that is gonna have a rollicking Super Bowl party, featuring The Big Game on a “JumboTron”?!?! I recall the previous week, Ron said he wasn’t gonna be there, because he would be on the radio (why not one of those ill-fated live on-site shows??!!). I’m sure I would have trouble finding a more bizarre/depressing place than a hotel bar, in the twenty-third month of a pandemic, in the dead of winter, to watch The Big Game…
Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, his likely new digs remains a sponsor. He said it doesn’t have BuzzR TV, begging the question, “what kind of premier hotel is this?!” But a live remote there would be music to the ears of all of us who would enjoy Ron haplessly trying to navigate all the technical problems that would surely ensue.uncleb67 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 1:53 pmI didn’t hear any of the show live this past weekend, I’m wondering if Ron was still reading the ad for the bar at the hotel (he may be staying at?) that is gonna have a rollicking Super Bowl party, featuring The Big Game on a “JumboTron”?!?! After the excitement of Sunday’s show, with its flurry of calls from new & returning callers, I suspect the big Super Bowl show will consist mainly of Ron doing play-by-play & repeatedly asking for an update on Stafford’s stats.
I’m wondering if Loui’s Pizza will be using the money it has saved from no longer sponsoring Ron’s show to pony up the big bucks to run a Super Bowl commercial.
Re: Ron Cameron
How will Ron react to the trade today of his favorite NBA player, Tyrese Halliburton (from Sacramento to Indiana)? ‘Get me his stats, nameless producer.’

Literally, I thought the same thing! “Halliburton Radio” on SportsTalk with Ron Cameron!radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 7:06 pmWhen I heard about the trade, that was the first thing I thought about was Ron’s reaction
Re: Ron Cameron
Even if the Pistons make a big trade before the deadline, you know that would get get second-billing to the Haliburton trade (assuming, that is, Ron even knows about it ... & if he doesn't, they'll be hell to pay if his producing team fails to inform him!). And speaking of what's Ron's source of news, I wonder if his new hotel leaves a USA Today outside his room weekday mornings.
Re: Ron Cameron
The Super Bowl will have to take a back seat to three hours of:
"The Pistons could have had Haliburton for Jerami Grant and Killian Hayes" or any other combination of players that pops into Ron's head.
