I recently tuned into this station and listened to it for about 2 days, it sounds extremely repetitive. The very same Nirvana song was played 3 times in a day and Good Charlotte "Life styles of the rich and famous" which is a dreadful song. Hopefully after this mess falls to a 0.9 in the ratings, WWJ will come to The FM dial.

According to Mediabase, the top 5 songs were played 293 times (~50 spins per song). n contrast, 101x in Austin's top 5 were spun 180 times, and it has long been a respectable station. All of the songs on power rotation sound more pop than straight up alternative. Alt 98.7 was much more listenable during their end of year 2000-2020 countdown. They should broaden their playlist to include more of the songs from the countdown, and be much more creative with their 80s and 90s gold. The commercials after every 2 to 3 songs on top of the mediocre playlist makes this station unlistenable.

It's fair to say that I miss 93.9 The River and I stick with Ann Arbor's 107one for my alt fix now.

I wish I could still get Ann Arbor's 107.1 from here. Can't any more due to K Love.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

107one should have been the station Entercom modeled 98.7 after. At least I know when I put 107one on, I know that I don't have to hear some shitty ass new rap cut every other song -- one of the benefits of the AAA format.

I know it would shit the bed here in Detroit, but 98.7 in its current state will do that anyway, and probably on an even greater scale. They don't have much to lose if they decide to tilt it in that direction.

Dude, I heard Runnin Down a Dream on 107one this morning. What, does that not get enough play on every other library format in the area? See, they could go deeper. Wildflowers, Yer So Bad...those would have been better choices. But RDAD? Come on...

And TBH, I do hear a lot ot snowflake stuff, too. 80% of that playlist in Detroit would be a 1.4 at best. That format works well in AA.

98.7 should model itself after Lithium. Mostly 90s, throw in some 00s stuff...know how I know it's time to change the station? When I hear "Radio dot com, music discovery". I'm usually back at Riff before she says 'discovery' 😂

107.1 is the definition of a snowflake station. 98.7 isn’t quite that far yet, just snowflake some of the time.

This.

100% agree!
Completely agree.

Also think that 106.7 WLLZ should’ve patterned themselves after Turbo when they first went on the air. Now that 89X is gone and WRIF tweaked somewhat with that genre, WLLZ still needs to go full one 90’s and 2000’s only. No more overplayed 70’s or 80’s cuts

Shit, I might like this idea more!

Also Mega — 107one plays those other tracks quite a bit. Heard “Yer So Bad” last night if I’m correct. I wish they would go deeper, but their corporate overlords might not care for that...

This sounds somewhat like KISS-FM in San Antonio, which basically stopped playing any new rock past 2007-2010ish:

They faded out of Lit's "My Own Worst Enemy" roughly a minute early to hit their 2 minute deal just before 3:00 this afternoon to get to the Church of Lazlo or whatever it is. So, they basically have 2 or 3 morning shows on every day? Because yesterday I was driving to a job in South Lyon and they were chatting about one thing, and then they went into a thing about Kamala Harris at the Senate. This station, man...I wanna like them but they're making it really difficult.

Any guesses on their January (first non-Holiday) 6+ book? I’m guessing a 1.7.

What a shame that Entervom (not a spelling error) decided to waste a market covering signal on a syndicated version of a format with an extensive history of failure in the market.
