WOW FM?
Re: WOW FM?
Dr. Don did afternoons. That’s all I remember. My dad was one of the six people who loved the station.

Re: WOW FM?
JD (Jim Daniels) and Katie did mornings. They would go to various grade schools in the area and have a class recite the pledge every morning. My wife applied and both of my daughters' classes made it on air.

Mark Elliot was on afternoons. (Mark Elliot a common air name on radio) He had his own dial-up BBS, that I used on occasion. Those were popular for a while in the 1990's before internet access become more readily available.

Not to be confused with the late Mark Elliot (Nils Johanson) of CKLW AM/FM, CFRB, etc.The Constant Browser wrote: ↑Wed May 29, 2019 2:34 amMark Elliot was on afternoons. Re: WOW FM?
I was doing traffic one morning, probably WWJ, during the days of WOW-FM. There was nothing of any importance happening on the roads. We monitored WOW routinely.
I heard whoever was the morning anchor rudely cut short a live interview with then-Gov. John Engler because ... it was time for a traffic report.
Stupid, stupid, stupid.

Re: WOW FM?
I think they had a pretty innovative idea for the time. It was just poorly executed. Kind of reminds me of what they did with 101.1 in Chicago after they dropped Q101
Re: WOW FM?
Onetime WWJ Radio anchorman John Delle Monache was one of the voices on WOWF-FM. (He later shifted to WYUR-AM 1310.) IIRC, the station's slogan was something like, "If It's Happening Now, It's on WOW."

Re: WOW FM?
not true- they only did mornings when it was Young Country. JD was evenings and Katie was traffic. they were joined after the switch and then Katie was moved to afternoons and Karen Dallasandro was moved to mornings with JDJD (Jim Daniels) and Katie did mornings. They would go to various grade schools in the area and have a class recite the pledge every morning. My wife applied and both of my daughters' classes made it on air.
he was their sports guy. and RC Bauer was the main news guyI seem to remember a guy named Cleat Dempster?

John Delle Monice (went to TV50 news after the switch) Replaced by JD and Katie
mid days- mark elliot (left town and was replaced by Karen and then later Katie)
afternoons - Dr Don (Remained for years)
evenings - JD/Jim Daniels (was replaced by Jyl Forythe)
Anthony Miles, Ed Tyll were fill in and weekends
they did a show at night called one hit wonders where they would play off the wall oldies and also continued to play the Dr Dimento clips overnights and weekends as it was a favorite of listeners.

Ed Tyll did middays after Mark Elliot left for awhile.
Re: WOW FM?
Anyone know where Cleat Dempster is these days? What is his given name? I don't know why, but he was really the only personality who stuck with me.
