Bernie the Blooper Boy :Perhaps SIX decades at WDIV .
Re: Bernie the Blooper Boy :Perhaps SIX decades at WDIV .
Brad is on the Jim Rome message board too. Makes me wonder...if he spent as much energy on getting a job as he does sitting on sports radio boards, he wouldn't live in squalor.

I’m not much for his schtick, but he’s a Detroit mainstay like many others.
It’s annoying but I now see it so rarely that it doesn’t matter to me.
Mort, Carmen, Bill, Huel, Jac, J.P., Sonny..... just a few names (we know them by their first names too, I may add) that are legends in Detroit Media..... but there are more, many more.
I think Bernie is among them and I’m glad to see him still here..... even with a moment of Canned Corn.

And,I don"t live in squalor like you, buddy !!!!! (I'm NOT on the Jim Rome message board, but perhaps YOU'D have a job if you weren't so concerned with my whereabouts,Daypart !!!!)

I was just speaking with my father about this a couple of weeks ago. Bernie has earned millions, let some younger guy get that cash.

Sadly, another sportscaster who was known for his personality died recently in a tragic accident—Chet Coppock. I remember him in Indianapolis in the 1970s.

There are plenty of sports addicts who just want to sit around watching adults argue like kids over sports or give straight, dull game scores. Bernie is entertaining to those who arent deep into sports talk. I dont think most reporters are funny or entertaining enough. They are too serious. Bernie adds entertainment value and can add to the lighthearted banter between the other anchors. To me, sports is more watchable and interesting when humor is incorporated into it

Sports is like anything else in life. Theres plenty of material for a lighthearted humorous snippet if you look for it. Most sports reporters are too serious. Bernie at least finds the funny bits and uses them to add something that other sportscasters ignore. And after watching 20 minutes of stories about shootings, house fires and corrupt politicians, his use of comedy is refreshing.Tman wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 12:34 amBernie rules . I thought you were Cowboy. And Brady and Cowboy always insisted they were two different people.
