PC Mag likes Hulu and Sling.

Of note - the price for Hulu cited in the grid only includes Hulu's on demand library. The starting price for Hulu Live TV is $39.99 per month. Also, Hulu permits 2 simultaneous live video streams under a basic subscription (not just 1).

CNET makes no specific recommendations, but does offer an overview of each service in the below article. Of note, none of the services offer 5.1 channel audio on live programming!! >: That is an absolute deal breaker for me. Hopefully, that'll change over the next year or two.

EDIT - Here's a great overview from a website called The Streamable. DirecTV Now recently added 5.1 surround sound to many of its live channels! However, DirectTV Now fares poorly in other areas.

From a sheer technical performance standpoint, it appears DirectTV Now, Sling and fuboTV lag the competion. Hulu Live TV and YouTube TV appear to be best-in-class with regard to technical performance.

There are a few more options now, than there was in 2019. Vidgo is one that was not a choice. Philo is another. Still partial to sling.

For old movies, the Classic Reel service offered through Roku has an incredible selection, at only $2.99 a month. Between that, Amazon Prime and YouTube, I've finally stopped missing TCM.

I am old and in Grand Rapids proper. I have had xfinity most recently, Dish, and comcast. I would say I am not a fan of any of them. It seems that Youtube tv might be a good switch. would anyone here have a little input for a technically incompetent dope?

Not much competition in any given area
