My Browser Has Been Hijacked

Post by Turkeytop » Thu Jun 25, 2020 3:49 pm

I normally use google chrome. Now, when I click on the chrome icon on my desk top, it opens up something different. How do I get my google chrome back?

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

OK. So, now I've deleted that shortcut that was redirecting me to a different browser. When I get to the real google chrome, how do I create a shortcut to that on my desk top?

No. And if I ever did feel so inclined, I wouldn't do it on that computer. That's my business computer. I don't even access this site with it.

Right-Click on the working one and then left click on SEND TO DESKTOP (CREATE SHORTCUT).

If you don't have that, then select PIN TO TASKBAR.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

Fixed. Our son walked me through it over the phone. Somehow Chrome was still my browser but my default search engine had been switched to Yahoo. He told me how to restore it as google.

For a search engine, use Dogpile (https://www.dogpile.com/). I've been using it 20+ years and it finds things when Google hasn't.

DuckDuckGo. Best search, no trackers.
What browser or OS in 2020 would possibly even suggest Yahoo as a default search engine choice?
