The best Sony Walkman is the SRF-59 AM /FM radio. What a sweet DX machine for AM Radio. Also The Sony SRF-49 and SRF-39 all great headphone radios. I have the SRF-59, SRF-56 which is FM only, The SRF-49 and SRF 39. These go for a ton of money on E-Bay some around $100. each.
I have a SRF-59 and a SRF-42, the FM/AM Stereo unit. I love to listen to Real Oldies 850 AM on the 42 in stereo mode. They've got their audio right out to 10khz. It sounds great.

My Walkman collection is an SRF-39, SRF-49, and SRF-42. The SRF-42 radio is far better than the other two with better DXing and, or course, the AM Stereo feature. The problem with it is the manual tuning dial trying to tune into the center of the signal to get the full stereo sound on AM.

Since I've been working at home here in Jackson, I take the SRF-42 with me when I walk to the mailboxes at the entrance of our subdivision. When I get out of range of my Part 15 stereo transmitter on 1250, I tune into these stereo stations:

WION 1430 Ionia, MI (sounds good when I get a clear signal...there's a lot of interference from the local 1450)
WOAP 1080 Owosso, MI (most of the time a weak signal and difficult to find)
CFCO 630 Chatham, ON (booms in on this radio)

I will give the 850 a try. Not expecting success with the Cleveland station on the same frequency.

Are pagers still being used?
Pagers are used in doctor's offices and restaurants to alert people when they are ready. The medical office I go to uses them, (I can't tell you which one due to privacy.)
I don't think pagers were flops at all. They were very popular and functional for quite a while, just displaced with advances in technology. As noted, they still have some niche uses today.

I did not know CFCO was still in AM Stereo. What’s your 20 to be able to receive CFCO so well.

My 20 is in Blackman Twp northwest of Jackson.

It's the SRF-42 that really pulls the stations in on the AM band; FM not so much. It's the only radio I have that receives WION and WOAP from here.

The last I knew, CFCO is a 10kW station during the day and I have received them in stereo as far west as US-131 in Three Rivers on my car stereo (Ford F87F-18C868-AD).
