This was in really poor taste. Government funding should be removed from the program that did it.

What idiots. I guess if you can't hear the baby scream then it's not really hurting anything, is it?

Go pray on it, but a majority of Americans support a woman's right to choose.

Let's see how Prop 3 goes, then you'll understand why we need services like NPR to rescue the misguide and misled victims of Kristian radio.

NPR reports news of interest for the rest America. We don't need to have the Kristian crowd interfering with free speech.

Would you agree or disagree that as few folks actually listen to NPR, it's about as "fringe" as right wing conspiracy radio?

Nelisen data doesn't support that... and you need to consider that ota listenership is declining as the streaming increases much faster...

What "fringe" conservative and/or jesus media pulls a weekly of 48 million listeners?

I bet you'd be fine with it if your right wing wacko podcast/radio hosts played the audio clip, huh?

BTW, NPR is mostly funded by donations and underwriters. Most government funding is negligible at best. Stop trying to make a boogeyman out of a valuable resource.

I'm not sure where you get your information, but CPB has a budget of 475 million FEDERAL dollars!
https://current.org/2021/05/president-b ... for%20FY22.
Those federal dollars are distributed in a number of ways, that is quite complex. For example, music licensing is paid for by CPB.

Another source is Federal NTIA dollars, that pays for the equipment, which is why so many NPR radio stations broadcast in HD.
In addition to appropriations funding, CPB has received $250 million in emergency funding over the past year to help stabilize stations during the coronavirus pandemic. The corporation is also seeking $300 million from Congress to support public media’s infrastructure.
NPR only gets about 12% from Indvidual donors:

I do not think all of it is bad. PBS is generally pretty good and has good educational content.

Let's not throw the baby out with bath water, but somebody should be fired.

Is your real name Karen?

Forgive the rest of us when we don't buy your crocodile tears over topics that hurt your political feelings. You really come off as a narcissist, thinking the rest of the world is as warped as you are. No wonder you love Trump.
