While I was never a big fan of 30 Rock and I don't think it's ratings were ever that good, a little surprised that Detroit's WDIV will postpone 30 Rock's reunion episode from Thursday at 8:00 pm, to early Friday morning at 1:36. According to the TV listings on WDIV's website, In 30 Rock's place Thursday evening will be a show called "Something Good." Is that a subtle jab at 30 Rock and/or NBC?

A lot of stations throughout the country will not air the 30 Rock Special. The reason is that it is somewhat a promo for Peacock, NBC's streaming service, (why promote the competition.) It will also be on The USA Network the next day.

Interesting. I noticed that USA and other NBC Universal cable networks are scheduled to air it this Friday night at 9:00. I didn't realize other NBC affiliates were pre-empting or delaying it, but it makes sense, since Peacock won't help those stations get anymore viewers or revenue.

WNWO is also preempting the special. In it's place will be additional reruns of Family Feud. WNWO won't be delaying it either.

According to news stories on this about half of their affiliates will not be airing it.

I'm a fan of 30 Rock and have the set on DVD. I'm not understanding why NBC affiliates are refusing to air the special.

The big owners thought since this special was to promote Peacock, it was going to cut into their profits. Plus, I think this special was optional to affiliates, but I'm not quite sure about that.

I enjoy 30 Rock, will this be available for streaming?

Looks like it's streamed on nbc.com as well as the Peacock site, which apparently is the point of this episode.

As the entire "commercial free" hour was designed to promote Peacock, the affiliates would not get any cuts in revenue from other advertisers, nor would there be space for local ad breaks, especially during a big election year. Which is why the stations would schedule something else instead and pocket all ad revenue for that hour.

WTF, WNWO had 4 rounds of Steve Harvey's Family Feud. Screw NBC. Only good TV is Jeopardy! the next 3 weeks with shows from the first 10 years....

I watched this last night on nbc.com. I liked 30 Rock back in the day, but this one-off special was pretty disappointing in my opinion. It felt more like an infomercial than a comedy special. It genuinely made me think less of everyone that took part in it. It seemed like maybe 15 minutes of comedy with the rest being shameless shilling for Peacock.

Did anyone watch the Parks and Rec one-off special earlier this year for COVID-relief? I thought that one was done way better than 30 Rock.

I kind of agree. It started out okay but fell apart after the half hour mark. It seems a lot more thought went into the Parks And Recreation Special.

I noticed Ceerie wasn't in it. However Katrina Bowden the actress who plays her is currently on The Bold And The Beautiful, which is one of the first shows to go back into production. Soap Operas are reassuring to watch in times like these.
