Was best known as the longtime news anchor of the PBS Newshour and also moderated 12 presidential debates, the most recent in 2012.

Jim was one of the last of the old guard. A traditional journalist who understood his craft and did it extremely well. His nine rules of journalism said it all, especially #9 on the list:

I am not in the entertainment business.

His insight will be missed. May he rest in peace.
