Perhaps supplanting Caitlyn Jenner as America's most prominent transgender individual, the latest
Jeopardy! uber-champion Amy Schneider
was robbed at gunpoint in her town of Oakland, California over the New Year's weekend.
On a brighter note, her current 25-game winning streak may possibly push her over the $1 million mark by week's end! Her winnings stand at $897,600 as of Tuesday 1/4.
Unlike previous uber-champ Matt Amodio, Schneider seems to play the game in a conventional manner which I find refreshing.

Amy Schneider has surpassed Matt Amodio as having the second longest Jeopardy! consecutive game winning streak, now at 40 games as of 1/25/22, while amassing $1,382,800 in winnings. She still has a looong way to go to reach the #1 spot held by current host Ken Jennings, a colossal 74 consecutive games ($2,520,700)!

I think WDIV bumped the episode for the State Of The State broadcast, (I did not turn Channel 4 on from 7:30 to 8 so I might be wrong.) Does anyone know if they are going to show it?

They aired it. Only Wheel of Fortune was preempted.
Gretch wrapped it up right at 7:30. I think Jeopardy started at about 7:32. Channel 4 trimmed the 2nd-commercial break down to like 30 seconds to get back on schedule.

Ah, once again I was the kiss of death.

Still, a great run. Just as when Amodio wasn't immediately privy to Hitler's
Anschluss in his Waterloo game, I'm somewhat shocked that Schneider didn't come up with "Bangladesh" -- I got it immediately. Perhaps she was content to pass the former in consecutive game victories...or she just thought 40 was a nice round number and ended it there.

Anybody who was watching Jeopardy last night on Channel 3 out of Kalamazoo, we knew that Amy lost the game, but we didn't find out what she wagered or what the final money totals were. It got cut off by a Channel 3 promo and into a commercial break. Great timing Channel 3.

I think so. She decided it's been fun, I got a ton of money, happy trails, see ya during the championships. Myself, I've always thought Jennings and Holzhauer did the same thing. Just decided to put the ribbons on it.
With all 3, did you ponder "You couldn't come up with that?".

I can't remember the Final Jeopardy clues on which Jennings and Holzhauer lost their last games. I've gotta believe at some point contestants must think there has to be more to life than filling people's living rooms with unfettered intelligence and getting rewarded handsomely for it.

Without looking it up, so I'm not positive, I believe the Fed's take 28 percent. And then whatever her state tax is. I'm not sure if California has a graduated scale.

I am so confused! Does that make Amy a transgender lesbian or does it make Genevieve no longer a "real" lesbian??

And now Mattea is a 20-day champion. This season really has had more than it’s fair share of lengthy champions.

Cute gal, kinda flighty, she drives me nuts at times.
The show is making a point of how easy it is to audition now; I wonder if English-speaking North America is running low on qualified contestants.
