They have too much on Trump to drop it... reassign it maybe but not drop it. And even then... them having a relationship or not is immaterial to the prosecution of it.
The issue now is whether both of them lied under oath. They both claim there was no relationship prior to Wade being hired. But 2,000 phone calls and 12,000 text messages over an 11-month period between the two in 2021?

That amounts to an average of 6 phone calls and 36 text messages per day, every day, for 11 months. Is there anybody you talk to that often that is anybody other than your significant other?

The prosecution's response to this is quite hilarious:
The records do nothing more than demonstrate that Special Prosecutor Wade’s telephone was located somewhere within a densely populated multiple-mile radius where various residences, restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and other businesses are located. The records do not prove, in any way, the content of the communications between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade was ever at any particular location or address; they do not prove that Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis were ever in the same place during any of the times listed.

The records may not prove that they were ever in the same place at the same time, but again, 2000 calls and 12,000 text messages in less than a year? As Biden would say, "come on, man!" Assuming the numbers are accurate and it can be proven that that many calls and messages took place, there is one and only one logical explanation - they were dating.

Ok, I've finally had enough.
In a lengthy statement on Thursday night, Mr Trump dismissed the Florida governor as a political lightweight who had come to him "in desperate shape" when running for his first term in office in 2017.

"Ron had low approval, bad polls, and no money, but he said that if I would Endorse [sic] him, he could win," Mr Trump said. "I also fixed his campaign, which had completely fallen apart."

He went on to complain that Mr DeSantis - whom he is nicknaming "Ron DeSanctimonious" - was "playing games" by refusing to rule out a presidential bid.

"Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that's really not the right answer," Mr Trump added.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canad ... gn=KARANGA

Oh, the irony of Trump invoking "class" in light of this statement. I didn't like this behavior when he directed it at his Republican opponents in 2016, but I tolerated it. Now this is too much. DeSantis is one of the few bright spots for the Republican party right now and for Trump to unleash this kind of rhetoric towards him is not only completely classless, but is very unwise from a political standpoint at this point in time considering that Trump is arguably to blame, at least in-part, for the Republican's poor showing in the midterms.

Him going after DeSantis may finally be the one thing that separates some of his own supporters away from him. I personally have had enough.

That said, I sure as hell won't be voting for any Democrats any time soon, but I will not be supporting Trump during the primaries. If he somehow gets the nomination, the Republican party will be in big trouble.
Voting for Trump is dumber than playing Russian Roulette with fully loaded chambers.

I don't think someone who voted for Trump twice, had had 3 different opinions of Trump (bad, then good, then bad again), and now finds Newsom and Whitmer to be acceptable as President and Vice-President has any room to talk. You continue to demonstrate what I've suspected for a while now - that you're really a closet Democrat. You routinely attack the more conservative posters in here, you bash Republican politicians way more often than Democrat ones, and you generally behave like a douche bag.

I attack people who are dumb enough to support Trump. That doesn't make me a lefty. Trump is a disgrace - that was proven after his loss.

Yeah, we get it. You were one of us for 4 years, saw the light, and now go on to routinely attack the very people whom you once aligned with.

Got it. Maybe that doesn't make you a lefty. It does, however, make you an asshole.

btw - pulling the lever for Newsom or Whitmer would make you a lefty.

Pulling the lever for Trump, an authoritarian and NOT a conservative, makes you a complete fucking moron. Trump can be nowhere near power again.

Relevance to anything? This is nothing more than a really lame attempt to derail his prosecution by the Trump side. That’s it.

Matt I guess I am an asshole too. I won't vote Trump this time around and am a lifetime conservative. I am old school Republican and we want nothing to do with Big Orange. I will most likely do what I did last time and that is vote third party. I don't consider it a wasted vote as it sends the message that neither major party candidate is worthy of my vote.

I didn't say anything about who you vote for making you an a-hole. I said that in specific reference to attacking those with whom you are otherwise aligned except for who they intend to vote for. Having a lively disagreement is one thing. Attacking others as being stupid is another thing entirely. And Matt does that regularly. Apparently he didn't learn from Hillary's "Basket of Deplorables" comment in 2016.

Interesting that you mention Hillary, the only election Trump has ever won, and the only person he'll ever beat. If you support an authoritarian tyrant, you are a stupid person, plain and simple.

Well you said you would vote for Gavin Newsom and Gretchen Whitmer, so I guess by your own admission, you are a stupid person, plain and simple.

If you watch Crime and Murder Case TV shows, you'll know that they can actually get the actual text messages and even the actual recorded calls if they need to. It's all recorded now. Alexa listens and records everything you say. Orwell was absolutely right about the terrors of Socialism, even the Telescreens he wrote about have been here for years. We call it the Internet. And "Smart Phones".

Alexa even listens to you when you talk in your sleep.

Be very afraid.

Have either of them tried to overturn an election loss? I'd only vote for either over Trump. Trump is despicable.

Not that I know of ostensibly.

But what about Al Gore in 2000? They had it rigged right down to the precincts they tried to overturn and the extra votes they needed to count to win. Remember those hanging Chads? Did Al Gore get charged with numerous crimes with flimsy evidence, way past the Statute of Limitations, and Unconstitutional recent made up laws to circumvent it? And local District Attorneys and Prosecutors vowing to send Al Gore to prison if elected?
