Unless one is a proponent of an open border policy then the number of people flooding in here without formal permission should be a concern.

The vast majority of the illegal people here didn’t come across the border. They are visa overstays. That means they came here legally and have overstayed their welcome. You can blame the 1990 reform to the visa system largely… it was intended to help companies obtain cheaper labor that could be here on a temporary basis.

That is simply not true. There doesn't seem to be any recent legitimate data but as of 2017 the number tossed out was 42% .
Now it could easily be more than 50% at this point but it isn't a "vast majority" unless you can give me a link to a dependable source.

Did you conveniently ignore where they talk about an ebb and flow to this? Vastly different isn’t the term I would use though the pandemic really ground things to a halt.

That’s also crossings… so that includes folks tossed back across the border and folks who got asylum and folks who escaped. That’s almost apples and oranges with what the other article measures. It makes it sound worse than it is.

True but Trump didn't exactly display Nazi like actions during his 4 years. Unless you think not making people wear masks is Nazi stuff. Or perhaps weakening the power of assorted federal agencies is Nazi stuff. How about kicking Covid response decisions to the individual states? Maybe not the best decision but it's not a Nazi decision.
