Roger Waters sure seems like a class act
Re: Roger Waters sure seems like a class act
Last week, Canada's Liberal goverment honoured and paid tribute to a former Nazi soldier who had transported Jews to the death camps
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Well it's true but ...
The speaker of Canada's House of Commons recognized 98-year old Yaroslav Hunka as a "Ukrainian hero" before the Canadian Parliament, praising him for fighting for Ukrainian independence against the Russians.
Speaker Anthony Rota, or anyone else, knew anything about Hulka being involved with death camps. It wasn't until the Simon Weinstein Center, a Jewish human rights group, shared it two days later.
Life is not a dress rehearsal. This is it. There's no going back, and we can only go forward before we run out of runway.

A competent government would have properly vetted someone before honouring him as a guest.
They just delivered a hewge propaganda gift to Putin. Putin has all along tried to justify his invasion of Ukraine by saying he has to liberate the country from nazis.
Now Putin can point to one of Ukraine's allies celebrating a nazi war criminal.

Back in the 90s, Floyd Lagrin was Minister of Finance in Ontario's Socialist government. We, in the party, used to call him Pink Floyd.

Back when we were calling him Pink Floyd I didn't even know there was another Pink Floyd.

Don't know how anyone could try and validate Putin's actions in killing tens of thousands of civilians and making millions of citizens flee their country and become refugees, all in an attempt to rid the world of a few nazis, even if that last part were true.Turkeytop wrote: ↑Wed Sep 27, 2023 8:48 pmA competent government would have properly vetted someone before honouring him as a guest.
