And it's never going change, doesn't matter who's in office. Anymore voting is kind of like playing the lotto when the Mega Millions jackpot goes up to 876 Millon smackaroos, everyone lines up for it but at the end of the day, you just wasted your time. That's just it, in my lifetime I've seen one after another come along promising change. W wanted to set a new tone in Washington DC, Obama Hope and Change, Trump make America great again (I guess it wasn't before?) and ole Joe Biden building back better. Pfffffffffff!

Look, for a VERY VERY long time I drank the Kool-Aid and naively believed a lot of this stuff. Argued about and thought " Its going to be different this time." Sort of like Pavlov's Dog, but sooner or later old red ain't gettin fed " No chuckwagon for you!" . Then you realize..... you wasted your time and energy over nothing.

It's like George Carlin used to say something like " Forget the politician's, they are there to give you an illusion that you have a choice, you don't, you have owners, they own you, they own everything".

The lobbyists control the government, and you will never get rid of them. If I recall correctly, wasn't that the point of McCain-Feingold? yeah that fixed things.

Here is why things stay as they are and why none of those things Robert Reich mentions ever changes: Americans are fat and happy, they aren't starving or living in huts built with mud and animal dung, I mean go to Walmart, do you see anyone who likes they are from Ethiopia?

Every time I go in, there is at least one fat heffer sitting on one of those motor carts , you know that are supposed to be for the elderly or someone who is truly disabled. Not some lazy fat ass who there to buy a carton of Newports, Screaming Scillian Pizza, and cake off the day-old shelf. Then you got others with carts full of stuff they don't need anyway.

If you were to have some earthquake in this country, people would have to be starving, it would have to literally be Lord of The Flies. Even then... some people still would not wake up and smell The Folgers brewing.

An uninformed public, big money, head in the clouds, and the whole " because that's how I feel/think" is the reason why things WILL NOT change for the foreseeable future.

I'll be honest, I don't have the whole answer but all I know is that putting hope and faith into a system that's totally messed up and broken isn't going to change anything. I do think, however that the states maybe need to take action themselves because waiting on Washington DC is like waiting for Jesus to come back. It seems like that's what they are doing.

You are correct about Newtowne, you'd think that would of been the turning point but over 10 years later nothing. Also, the face of any sort of change has not been able to articulate a good solid argument against the gun lobby. After that event in FL, the face of the gun reform movement turned out to be some foul mouthed, pretentious, uninformed little brat named David Hogg, who reminds me a little of Hey Arnold! from Nickelodeon. It's an elementary school of 4 - 11 year olds. The shooter attended roughly 20 years ago, likely long before even they identified as trans.
