Just like COVID, you don't seem emotionally capable of understanding this problem unless it happens to your family. Can you share your thoughts on how weapons designed to kill have shattered many lives?
Sure. As soon as you answer my question by explaining how it is that the state with the strictest gun control measures in the country (literally ranked #1 out of 50 in strictness of gun control) also leads the nation in both mass shootings and mass shooting deaths, both in raw and per capita numbers.

Lack of enforcement over guns. Without meaningful assault riffle control, deaths triple.
Joe Biden: "When we passed the assault weapons ban, mass shootings went down. When the law expired, mass shootings tripled."

PolitiFact's ruling: Mostly True

Here's why: There was no mistaking President Joe Biden’s plea for some sort of concrete response to the slaying of 19 elementary school children and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas.

"I spent my career as a senator and as vice president working to pass common sense gun laws," Biden said in a May 24 prime time national address. "We can’t and won’t prevent every tragedy. But we know they work and have a positive impact. When we passed the assault weapons ban, mass shootings went down. When the law expired, mass shootings tripled."

Biden was thinking back to sweeping gun legislation passed in 1994. Among other changes, it banned certain kinds of weapons, and the large-capacity magazines that allow people to fire more bullets before reloading.

There are numbers that back Biden up. A 2019 study out of New York University’s School of Medicine found that mass shooting deaths involving assault weapons fell slightly in the decade of the federal assault weapon ban, and then rose dramatically in the decade that followed. That’s the time frame for Biden’s statement.

I wonder when TC Talks is going to go on a crusade against fast food restaurants calling for them to all be shut down? For every one person killed in a mass shooting, 2,000 die from heart disease. Sure, one could argue that eating fast food is a personal choice, but damn that stuff can be addictive.

Time for a cheeseburger ban.
I don't see him calling for a wall at our southern border either.
According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), fentanyl is now the top cause of death among U.S. adults (ages 18-45) – more than COVID-19, suicide and car accidents. The CDC reports that of 100,000 adults who died of drug overdoses from 2018 to 2020, a staggering 19,400 – 19 percent – had died after overdosing on fentanyl.
A wall won't work and lots of that has to do with topography and the weird spots where the US is SOUTH of Mexico. They'll also tunnel under the wall and throw the stuff over it. It's also 2000 miles long... you can't surveil every part of it. Unless you legitimize and regulate the hell out of the cartels you'll never win. They are three steps ahead of you if you think a wall is the answer.

It’s too much. Ban assault weapons now!
So here is a perfect example on how well firearm bans work. The shooter at Monterey Park, where 12 innocents lost their lives, used a Mac-10 along with a 30 round clip. Both are banned under current California law.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

Yet mass shootings drop when they are banned. Mass shootings don't go away...

I see the disconnect. It's a zero-sum thing. Just like with the vaccines. Nobody said it would eradicate it. Same thing with guns. There will still be incidents, just not as many. Nothing in life will ever be all or nothing.

Correct, but that is the piece of junk argument the gun nuts keep offering.

BTW, these types hate vaccines too.

That's what you anti COTUS gun grabbers keep saying. Evidently not in California. They have had three in a week.

California is a mystery. It goes against statistics around the world. Strict laws, high gun violence. How would you lower gun violence successfully?

More guns isn't working. You said if we were all armed, gun violence would stop, but it's going up still.

No mystery. California isn't the rest of the world. Most the rest of the world actually enforces the laws the have in place. Most, considerably harsher than we do. Bet you don't see to many police officers go on trial in the rest of the world for being to rough or violating a suspects civil rights. Ooops, I forgot, that's one part of our COTUS you like.

Our problem isn't guns. It's people using guns illegally. Borrowing from Craig, I but you shootings would go down so fast it would make your head spin if someone caught with an illegal gun automatically lost a hand.

As long as we use that policy with White Collar criminals too... They'd call Trump stumpy.

In the rest of the developed world the cop-citizen dynamic is a bit different. You don't see them go on trial because their police don't have a culture problem like ours do.

Calling for a ban on white collars now too?

Not at all. Douchebag racist trust fund boomers who commit high crimes? Absolutely.

Oh, and cops who beat citizens to death.

Well, he hates religion, so maybe that's part of it.
