Nothing new here. Conservatives hold on to their principles and to do what they feel is right, while everyone else seeks what is politically expedient.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

So you guys are the band playing while the titanic is at 90 degrees and sinking with the ship?

Seeking the restoration of the ability for one person to call to vacate the chair is about as politically expedient a move as they can make. It’s also entirely unhinged from the principles that made the country what it is toda… you know what… you’re right these are conservative principles. This entire process is an illustration of the greatness we can all enjoy if we just start backing conservative principles.

This is factually incorrect. Over half of the freedom caucus supports McCarthy.

Maybe Bryce only considers the holdouts true Conservatives? Figuring out who is on what side on the right takes a scorecard because of all the different factions at odds with each other.

That is particularly appropriate when it comes to some of the deplorables in the conservative rank and file.
The Daily Beast reported on Thursday Joel Greenberg admitted in a letter to Roger Stone that Matt Gaetz paid for sex with a 17-year-old.
Will we break the record of 9 votes with no speaker today?

This is just rich... How can house reps be giving speeches on the floor when there is no assembled congress...

Also- Republicans continue to be a pack of idiots...

Why do say that?

Democrats are nothing but a bunch of robots, that come pre-programmed with woke, dumb ideas.

You have a short term memory. The Republicans have been locked in step since the 1980's.

Trump has now received a vote. McCarthy is down to 200.
Live Updates: McCarthy Lost 11th Speaker Vote
Despite concessions, Kevin McCarthy has failed to win over Republican hard-liners, leaving his bid for speakership to fail repeatedly over three days of voting. The chamber cannot act on any other business until a speaker is chosen.

Is McCarthy so objectionable that there's not a single Democrat that would support him?? Not even one(s) from his home state??

I can see if it was someone as polarizing as Pelosi, but does McCarthy rise to that level?

Perhaps they should require 66% support of the whole house. And a rule that NO ONE GETS PAID (because they can't do their jobs anyways) until a Speaker gets seated. And no vacations or other perks of the job until it happens either.

Jefferies is moderate enough for 6 Republicans. Congress ALWAYS gets paid. I can't think of a Republican who needs it except that broke ass liar Santos.

Keith Olbermann has the plan for Kevin to finally get his dream job. It also uses the Kevin way of blowing all directions to accomplish it.

It is in block 1 https://omny.fm/shows/countdown-with-ke ... cle-1-5-23
