Yes. Having lived there for almost a decade previously, I can confirm the medical system sucks in AZ. Good luck getting care from a doctor, especially when the snowbirds arrive and make their appointments as well. Urgent care clinics usually have hours-long waits. Even when you *DO* get in, you are herded along like cattle and just given a prescription, instead of holistic care.bmw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:19 amOne interesting anomaly in the data is Arizona. They have the 2nd highest mortality rate but for no apparent reason. They're 27th in vaccination rate (so just barely below the median), 31st in obesity rate (so better than the median), and the age of their population is 38.5 which is 0.3 years below the national average. Maybe the hospitals there just suck?
Acceptable registrations in the queue through March 30 at 9:00a ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Arizona has issues also because they have some highly underserved areas. Navajo nation and other areas of northeast Arizona are highly isolated as well as most of the area near Havasu in NW Arizona. You also have an aging population.bmw wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2022 9:19 amWhile my initial reaction was to write this off is just another unfounded excuse for high mortality rates from Covid, you might actually be on to something. While TC Talks's contention about the "uneducated unvaccinated" being the problem has no basis in reality, obesity rates do seemingly strongly correlate with overall Covid mortality rates.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Mon Nov 28, 2022 9:50 pmMichigan is one of the most obese states north of the Mason Dixon line.
Every one of the 10 fattest states is within the 18 worst Covid-mortality rate states:
Mississippi - 40.80% (1st in mortality)
West Virginia - 39.70% (3rd in mortality)
Arkansas - 37.40% (5th in mortality)
Oklahoma - 36.80% (9th in mortality)
Kentucky - 36.50% (12th in mortality)
Tennessee - 36.50% (7th in mortality)
Alabama - 36.10% (4th in mortality)
Michigan - 36.00% (8th in mortality)
Louisiana - 35.90% (13th in mortality)
South Carolina - 35.40% (18th in mortality)
So apparently, the best advice to avoid dying from Covid is to lose some weight. And obesity is a double-edged sword since it directly correlates with diabetes. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21128002/

They/them, non-binary and proud.
Remember that “2000 Mules” was concocted by a circus of elephants.
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.
