Republican CEO's behind Gas Prices

Post by TC Talks » Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:11 am

Now that Exxon, Chevron, and Shell have posted record billion dollar profits, how can anyone blame politicians for gas prices? This is gouging.

Should Biden step into free market and control prices? Republicans love to blame him for this, maybe they want socialism to fix this.

I have always contended that commodities are often used to manipulate "common" folk to vote in particular ways. Gas prices always seem under control when the oil companies get policies they want.

Thoughts?

Those CEOs are just laughing all the way to the bank.

If the government ENCOURAGED competition, rather than try to stifle it at every opportunity, then we'd see those CEOs actually competing to lower prices in an effort to see more product. Because everyone is constrained on what they can produce, they'll gladly sell at the highest price the market will bear knowing their competition can't gain market share.

The government SHOULD be putting an excise tax on any of those EXPORTED natural resources though, and also consider import taxes when folks like Saudi Arabia or OPEC artificially lower prices to kill the domestic industry, just as they should when someone like China is dumping steel on our shores.

How would they do that exactly? Be specific and show us how little you understand about this..

This is what I have been saying since March. And let’s investigate towels and toilet paper too. Why is a 6 roll of paper towel $15? They are making money hand over fist. I am sick of this shit.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Paper towel is a buck a roll these days... Not unreasonable.
