The Democrats’ 2022 death wish

Post by audiophile » Thu Aug 11, 2022 5:42 pm

I'm not sure I agree with all of this, but Democrats are a disaster, no doubt.

More specifically, as the article said, the Inflation Reduction Act is joke, much of the bill is pure pork and will never produce any real benefits.

Dems will probably gain a Senate seat.

I think the Dems will win the Senate but lose the House. I also think something will happen between now and November that will make Trump endorsees
wish they would have never heard his name let alone have video of them hugging the man.

They will probably gain 3-4 and not lose any. The house is 50-50. This is no ordinary year.

Remember how much you were enjoying 2016 until the vote counts came in?

Where do you get 3 or 4? I see Ohio and Pennsylvania, and hope they hang on to Arizona.

They will lose the house.

Ohio, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Florida are all in play. North Carolina is swingy-ish and the Democrats put up a strong candidate in Florida. Oh and I forgot Wisconsin. Ron Johnson is very vulnerable. So up to 5.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the house either… in a normal year maybe.. but we have women energized as hell now over abortion and they tend to vote Democrat and we have this Trump thing now… there are too many variables and maybe more to come to say what will happen with any certainty 3 months out.

Rick Scott who is chairing the National Republican Senatorial Committee just said he thinks this is gonna be a very tough year for Republicans. Basically there are too many Trump clones in places where that doesn’t play well or could be exploited against the candidates if they try to tack to the middle to get independent voters.

My folks spend 6 months a year down there. I wouldn’t bet on that. Rubio, like Desantis, has pissed a lot of people off there

If there is one truism in politics, it's that Florida ALWAYS disappoints Democrats.

NC might be close, RT. Hope you're right.

Need at least 52 R in the next Senate to stop the far left.

There’s no way that happens with the weak Trump clones in Pennsylvania, Ohio and Arizona and the very weak Ron Johnson In Wisconsin who started talking about defunding social security and Medicare unprompted a few weeks ago. He’s another Trump clone but he adopted it. Rubio has to be looking over his shoulder… he drew the moderate former police chief of Orlando and current Representative, Val Demings. She’s no slouch. You can’t beat somebody with nobody and there’s a lot of Tudor Dixonesque folks the Republicans have nominated. Just because it’s a midterm doesn’t mean you don’t have to put up candidates that can win. Most of them say the election was stolen and are coalescing around Trump… it’s almost like they are suicidal or something…

Right. Because this country needs great minds like Herschel Walker in the Senate.
