Lucky for this guy he had one when HE needed it.

Three of the suspects approached the victim's home while a fourth waited in a car. When the victim unlocked the front door, two of the men allegedly pushed their way inside and started attacking him, while the third waited outside with a handgun.

The victim was armed but lost his gun during the scuffle, then ran to the back of his house and grabbed an AK-47-style rifle, which he started firing at the intruders, Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons said.

That hits close to home for me. I worked in that mall at a restaurant when I was a teenager in the 1970s. That's just south of Indianapolis, in an area where farming and hunting are still probably a big part of the culture.

Nah. Like the links that bmw are posting, you can find a whole lot of instances of people using a weapon to successfully defend themselves and others from harm.

I believe I've said this before. The NRA is using their heads for self proctology, if you ask me.
Instead of throwing money at their buddies and pals in government, they should focus funds towards a polished YouTube channel or even a half hour weekly spot on some network extolling instances like bmw and Bryce are talking about in this thread.

Did you even consider how that situation may have been different if one of the two teachers, or both, that were shot and killed had been armed?

Would Bobby East be alive today had he been armed? Why anyone would let someone that looks like this get close enough to stab them is beyond me, but most people don't pay enough attention to what's happening around them.
