In other words, it's the economy, stupid (and crime, too).The only "drastic changes" most voters are going to care about are
(A) the drastically higher gas prices,
(B) the drastically higher food prices,
(C) the drastically higher crime rates,
and to a lesser extent,
(D) the drastically reduced cognitive abilities of our sitting President.

Poverty continues to strike black families disproportionately, undoubtedly. That said, the assertion that progress hasn't been made in terms of expanding the black middle class is false....the economic situation of black families in America is almost exactly the same today as it was in the 1950s.
