Mi GOP Gubernatorial Candidates lack support

Post by TC Talks » Tue May 24, 2022 3:26 am

It's going to be fun watching these losers eat each other before the primaries even begin. What a sorry sack of candidates.
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Michigan’s elections bureau said late Monday that five Republican candidates for governor, including two leading contenders, failed to file enough valid nominating signatures and should not qualify for the August primary.

The recommendations immediately transformed the race and dealt a major blow to former Detroit Police Chief James Craig, who has led in polling despite campaign problems, and businessman Perry Johnson, who has spent millions of his own money to run.

Democrats had challenged their petitions, alleging forgery, duplicates and other issues.

Another GOP candidate, Tudor Dixon, had also contested Craig’s voter signatures as forged.

The bipartisan, four-member Board of State Canvassers will meet Thursday to consider the elections bureau’s findings.

Republican candidates, who are vying to face Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer in November, could end up going to court if they do not make the ballot.

We'll see what it looks like in August and November. Shitty petition collectors is not an indication of lack of support.

What's more pathetic: harassing an old man who is paying to do a radio show or supporting a grifter like Trump?

So-called quality guru Perry Johnson couldn't even follow simple signature submission rules competently. What a dork.

Dixon is the winner from the signature gathering clusterfuck. The Bureau of Elections have already stated her signatures are adequate, and a couple days ago, she picked up the endorsement of Dick and Betsy DeVos.

We'll see where things go. If Craig isn't on the ballot, I'll take a look at Dixon and Rinke.

Dick DeVos, who spent more than anyone in the history of Michigan elections and lost badly.

At least our (as you say, incompetent) Governor can get on the ballot. This certainly makes these tools even less capable than she whom you loath.

Your governor issued 182 unconstitutional executive orders. That makes anything the Republicans are dealing with at the moment look like child's play.

That said, I do appreciate the irony of the self-proclaimed "quality guru" failing so miserably at this early stage.

1 candidate vs 10. Also, maybe we can just change the rules mid-stream. Maybe the equally incompetent SOS can send out petitions to everyone unsolicited.

Are you whining about ensuring all citizens have easy access to vote? I understand that this really bothers white men in particular.

There are rules and you're not allowed to blanket the state with voting apps. Of course you know this, but you're being your usual disingenuous self.

So you're saying that voter fraud was rampant? Or you just towing the party line

The opportunity for fraud was there and didn't need to be.

I may vote for Rinke in the primary. Even though his dealership sucks, he's a lot less crazy than the rest of them. The only contended Dem primary for me is for Congress. Polls have James ahead of any Democrat by 10%+ in that race. So, I look at as a good way to play the long game. As time has gone on, I realize that Gretchen is likely going to be a one termer.

You're clearly scared that one of these candidates will defeat the worst current governor in America, Gretchen Whitmer.
