If this data is accurate and Omicron is more contagious, I think we should create a separate response to unvaccinated people. We can't keep marginalizing our hospitals with ignorant selfish people while responsible people with illness are deferred.

The solution is simple… if you don’t get vaccinated you have indicated you wish to remain at home and go it alone. That’s all anybody needs to see to kick them out of the ER with some thoughts and prayers. If they die at home we have facilities to deal with their families loss.

I like the idea that people who choose not to be vaccinated have to secure additional insurance. Similar to the helmet law, you can be an idiot but we're not going to pay for your mistakes. Insurance companies do charge more for people who are obese. So again I'm all for doing what we do in those instances.

Currently, we aren't Banning unvaccinated people from businesses like we do with smokers who want to be careless to others around them. So it's not an exact comparison but I'm willing to do what they do in New York: no vaccination no entry to almost every business.

We could start a little triage tent up in the parking lot to give them their shot of something and send them home with thoughts and prayers.

The issue is that unvaccinated people are disproportionately taking up hospital space and resources preventing others from getting potentially life-saving diagnostic screenings and care. Smokers and obese people don't come close to being a strain on the system as much as this pandemic of the unvaccinated does.
