Flu 20x more likely to put a child in the hospital than is Covid

I noted this in another thread, but I think it is worthy of its own thread given the hysteria.

Per the CDC, 2,360 children have been hospitalized with Covid thus far this year.

Also per the CDC, during the 8-month 2018-2019 flu season, 45,685 children were hospitalized with the flu.

This means that literally 20x more kids ended up in the hospital with the flu in 2018-2019 flu season than have ended up in the hospital with Covid in 2021. Given those stats, along with the fact that only 0.07% of all Covid deaths are in children (the other 99.93% are in adults), I have to conclude that the way that many different school districts are handling Covid is based purely on hysteria and not reality.

Even since the pandemic began, the total number of hospitalized children for Covid is only at 4,123 hospitalizations. That number is still more than 10x smaller than a single typical flu season for the same age group.
