Mainstream media OBSESSED with Delta variant of Covid

For weeks now, always in the top headlines is gloom-and-doom predictions about how bad the Delta variant of Covid is going to be.

I just looked at the numbers, and for the past 3 straight days, total Covid cases in the US are at the lowest numbers they've been at since the start of the pandemic (and down 97% compared to the peak back in the winter). 56% of the population is at least partially vaccinated, and 47% are fully vaccinated. People over the age of 65 (the most vulnerable group) has an extremely high vaccination rate of I believe over 80% now.

So while Covid isn't completely gone, it is SIGNIFICANTLY under control. So why can't the media let it go? Here where I live, the vast majority of the people in town are going about their daily lives. I rarely even see masks anymore. In fact, last night when I was in Wal Mart, I saw probably 50 or 60 people (including employees) and I literally did not see ONE SINGLE MASK!

The State of Michigan is only reporting infections and deaths twice a week now.

The door to door thing is a worse idea than mass government-run vaccine sites. Any injuries as a result are directly on the administration.

This is actually a very good point. Only a moron would receive a vaccine from someone coming to their door that they do not know. However, only a moron wouldn't have gone down to the county health department or their doctor's office and received the shot to begin with.

So I guess this is a case of matching the target market with a product. Really, it sounds like the medicalization of Reaganomics in a way.

I think this by far is the most important takeaway.

The mainstream media hype machine is definitely in overdrive on the Delta variant. It works to a degree. My mom is glued to their bullshit.

That's half of it. The other half is that the vaccine is readily available to anybody who wants it, and has been for some time now.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it. Right now there's plenty of water, the horses that want water have drank it, and the media and the government are screaming at the remaining horses at the top of their lungs in vein as if it will somehow work. At some point you let those horses make their own decisions and leave them alone.
