How many are hospitalized? Hundreds of kids and teachers get the flu every year. Didn't see any mask mandates then.
New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

I am unsure of the "all-time high number," but that statement certainly doesn't sound rosy.The memo also mentioned that only 50% or so of eligible Montgomery County residents are vaccinated, and that hospitals recently surpassed the all-time high number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19.
The positivity rate in the county is at 23%, the memo also noted.

If flu is running rampant in an area, I think mask mandates should definitely be considered moving forward.Hundreds of kids and teachers get the flu every year. Didn't see any mask mandates then.

The problem with the flu isn't a lack of masks - it is that too many people who have it go to work or school anyways. If you're stick, STAY THE HELL HOME! I do suspect that in a post-Covid world that more people will do just that, which is a good thing.

I think once COVID wanes and comes out of the pandemic phase and skews more endemic, a lot of people will resume old habits.
The conservative spin room is saying that there will be a new virus from the melting ice caps called "SPARS" in 2025 and are already developing their questionable Q Anon blathering points.
