“Rats” on Trump big time! Speaks about distressing phone call from him to her after she gave an interview that did not coincide with his public spin on the pandemic, including his largely incorrect management of the White House response - to keep Americans from dying of Covid 19.

She essentially says in the documentary that Trump is responsible for scads of avoidable American deaths! That his approach and execution of any mitigation of the health crisis was often NOT based on the science that she, Dr. Fauci, and the other majority of well-regarded and highly experienced scientists were recommending.

Said person didn’t exactly encourage such behavior, he made fun of it. He’s influential among millions of people that no doubt based their behavior on what he said. That should clear it up.

I don't have a lot of respect for Brix and would disagree she's speaking her mind freely without concern of repercussion. To this day she's still playing coy about the extent the Trump administration knowingly fucked up its response to the pandemic. That she's using the euphemism 'distressing phone call' makes it clear she's still trying to have it both ways: A good bureaucratic soldier and a unimpeachable practitioner of public heath. The fact that she didn't right then and there call out Trump when he went on his drink the bleach jag tells me everything I need to know about where her priorities lie, that being keep the nice prestigious government gig.

That said, you are right about Trump having blood on his hands. That much is clear with or without Brix's weak sauce recounting of events.

I've yet to see any high profile government official, no matter their party, purposely downplay or try to slow down the vaccine. Sure their have been logistical f-ups, but they haven't been malicious in nature.

Nobody said he forced anybody to do anything. He has INFLUENCE OVER THE DECISIONS OF HIS FOLLOWERS. His not doing something or only half-ass promoting them getting the vaccine or belittling mask wearing and distancing is a major factor in THEIR decisions. To assume otherwise is rather foolish. Yes ultimately it’s their decision. But he could be doing a whole hell of a lot more to influence their behavior in a better direction. That’s why other politicians from both parties are out there saying it. They are hoping leadership will influence people to make a good choice. You failed psychology apparently.

Former President Donald Trump did everything in his power, and not in his power, to discourage social distancing and the wearing of masks.

Even going so far as to clownishly ascend the steps to the “backyard” balcony of the White House - and melodramatically rip off his mask - after Marine One dumped his ass off on the back lawn from his Walter Reed Hospital Covid stay and maskless “Presidential SUV Street Parade”.

He then turned and walked maskless into The White House. Which as we all know quickly expanded as a hot house of Covid infections.

And do not forget his mass maskless crowded super spreader event featuring Amy the super speed RBG replacement (Merrick Garland who?) for the US Supreme Court. Hugging. Kissing. Laughing in each other’s faces. Back slappin’ away - until a shitload got sick that week.

Trump was actually very careful not to wear a mask in public when sometimes other officials near him were.

Do not ever rewrite history. That pesky video and still photography - day by day - week by week- month by month just NEVER allows the many maskless public signals to Americans to fade from memory.

And the same voices in here crying bloody murder about Trump were nowhere to be seen when Cuomo and Whitmer were forcing Covid-positive patients back into nursing homes, where people actually DID die as direct result of these decision.

The nursing home thing really ought to have a bipartisan investigation to see if there was truly wrongdoing or just stupidity involved. Sweeping it under the rug was a bad move.
