Republicans have introduced 250 voter suppression laws in 43 States

Post by TC Talks » Tue Mar 16, 2021 10:06 pm

It seems that the creepy Overlord Alec organization is still alive and kicking. There is absolutely no coincidence that all of these bills were introduced simultaneously including in our own state by loser proud boys fanz of the Republican Party.

Who wants to bet that none of these restrict voting for your typical white male?

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/ ... acker-2021
The GOP’s national push to enact hundreds of new election restrictions could strain every available method of voting for tens of millions of Americans, potentially amounting to the most sweeping contraction of ballot access in the United States since the end of Reconstruction, when Southern states curtailed the voting rights of formerly enslaved Black men, a Washington Post analysis has found.

In 43 states across the country, Republican lawmakers have proposed at least 250 laws that would limit mail, early in-person and Election Day voting with such constraints as stricter ID requirements, limited hours or narrower eligibility to vote absentee, according to data compiled as of Feb. 19 by the nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice. Even more proposals have been introduced since then.

absolutely that's what county clerks are for. These are nothing but ways to suppress the votes of those people who get marginalized every election

I would say that banning weekend voting is a sure fire way to.make sure those working 12 hour days during the week cannot vote. This is the reality in Georgia.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

Doesn't every state have some form of absentee voting?

Voting should be by mail period.

The postal system is so dependable today. 25% of the mail is lost and that’s a fact, 25%of the vote would be gone. What a stupid idea “Voting should be by mail period”. The post office needs to be privatized or gone for good, everything is done online or by phone today and we have direct deposit. No need for the post office in today’s world.

That's a neat idea for a different discussion especially when the Trump administration seated the postmaster who messed the whole system up. The reality is the Republicans will do anything to prevent the working class from voting. The reality is that mail is pretty reliable if it stays within a region. The problems currently exist at the H*** distribution centers for inner state postal. The biggest impacts are with presort mail and non priority packages.

Good point... noted for future reference. I try to avoid people who recommend Dan Bongino.
