Barack the Magic Negro was the title of an article in a newspaper, the Los Angeles Times if memory serves, before Limbaugh played a song parody of it. Was the author of that article racist?

I mentioned the McNabb comment. Again, why didn’t Tom Jackson call him out on that? Jackson defended McNabb’s play, and Limbaugh said the defense carried that team. Never did Tom Jackson call him a racist. I saw the segment as it aired.

I never heard the other comments, do you have audio?

Yes, not many women are that sexually active. If Fluck wasn’t trying to force insurance companies to pay for condoms/birth control/whatever, it wouldn’t be my business.

I would agree that he lived his convictions, he remained a horrible person.

Limbaugh trafficked in a lot of hateful shit over the years... it's hilarious to watch people clutching their pearls when they run across someone who might not be lamenting his death. I don't wish cancer on anyone. It sucks. But sometimes shitty hands get dealt to shitty people. I ain't gonna lose any sleep over El Rushbo kicking off.

I just hope he went out doing something he loved... flying high on painkillers.

Our system of treating (or creating) celebrities because of their ability to entertain or self-generate divisiveness is a far bigger problem than what any of these people with a mic say or do.

See Stern, Howard. Limbaugh, Rush and on and on.

The problem isn't them - it's all of us that make what they do on the radio or on TV become legitimate.

The exact same thing applies to our worship of athletes.

I clicked on all of the “source” links, and they are dead. Do you have the audio?

Mandela was a communist. That doesn’t mean he should have been in jail for it, or that South Africa didn’t have real issues regarding race.

Wow Fuzz, you really are nuts. You have denied any of his horrible actions, now you accuse a Nobel Peace prize winner of being a communist without offering any proof.

He was addicted to oxycontin long before it became known as a national epidemic.

Perhaps the FDA and the country at large should've taken his anecdotal experience more seriously at the time instead of (largely) saying "ha-ha!". Perhaps the widespread addiction that ensued years later could've been reduced greatly or prevented.

Mr. Limbaugh was a legendary broadcaster who reinvigorated scores of struggling AM radio stations. He was arguably the most influential broadcaster of our time.

Limbaugh is barely room temperature, and the far lefties here, you know those who preach how loving and tolerant they are, are celebrating. Absolutely vile and disgusting. He’s wasn’t Charles Manson. I didn’t agree with everything he said, but I appreciated his entertainment and appreciate how he spoke his mind even when it wasn’t phrased the best way. The guy loved radio. He was a major fan of the AM Top40 heyday.

TC Talks, you are an absolute jerk for posting your hatred just minutes after he died. You are evil and a bitter man.
What does that even mean? Did you find his mocking of disabled people entertaining as in funny? How did it bring you joy? Exactly what thrill did you get when he was making fun of people with AIDS? Poor people? Women and minorities? So you appreciate folks speaking their mind? How about this? You're a sick fuck for finding any of his act valuable in terms of entertainment. Even worse, for giving a broadcaster who should know better a free pass even when it wasn’t phrased the best way.

The only reason Limbaugh was successful was because he was a politically incorrect ass. The more he upset people, the better it was for him. If he was PC, his show doesn't last. People stop talking about it, stop being mad about it. The show goes away.

What he did was theater. It worked too well.

Unless communism has been greatly expanded as a definition, there are no communists on this board. The closest is TurkeyTop... but he’s a socialist.

Howard Stern does (or did) the exact same thing. I’m sure others have too. Do you wish for their deaths?
When did I say I agreed with everything he said? Did you not read my first comment? I believe in free speech, no matter what. If I don’t like it, I change the station. I may call the station. I may boycott the advertisers. If someone goes violent, that’s a different story.
