Twenty Four Michigan Hospitals at 90% Capacity or Higher

While the Republican lawmakers continue playing reindeer games in the woods, hospitals continue to fill up.

This is alarming. Everyone says Covid-19 is just the flu. Well I disagree. The "flu" has never jammed up hospitals before. Has to be something to that. Everyone said this would go away after the election...and guess what? It's still here and it's getting worse! Yes, it does have a high survival rate, but that doesn't diminish the severity this disease can cause...even long lasting health repercussions for that matter.

Rural areas will be impacted the most, this is the Republican's home towns.

Clearly much lower than it is now. Even the folks in the hospitals themselves who know this stuff say it’s getting bad. Near or at capacity hospitals is not normal. Neither are morgue trailers outside.

Just hope you don't have a car accident or a heart attack. Where could you go?

Keep in mind many covid deaths happen at home as sick people don’t go to the hospital because they know the facility won’t have room for them.

And that goes for all illnesses/health problems when hospitals are overwhelmed.

Who wants to die in the waiting room after a ten hour wait? Or on a gurney in a hallway? And if you’re old or have co-morbidities and too many staff are out sick - you’ll probably be relegated to low priority during triage - because the extra measures needed to save you can’t be accomplished in overflow high demand with low supply of staffers.

Never had seen M.A.S.H. tents outside a hospital in this country until this year. None of the seniors I know have either.

Both Henry Ford Health System and Beaumont Health System have announced that they are at capacity. Does anyone still think this isn't a big deal?
Both were way beyond capacity back in January, with flu patients. There were NO BEDS at Beaumont Troy, and patients were forced to stay in the ER. This went on for at least three weeks. I guess your media pals were out to lunch on that one.
Post from March.

Still trying to rationalize this chart with the sensationalism that comes across the news.

From the state's own website, which tracks all "flue-like" symptoms, including COVID:

ALSO, from the state's own website, only about 25% of the ICU beds are taken by folks suspected or confirmed with COVID.

That’s 25% that wouldn’t be there normally. Not sure what’s not clicking for you there.

Look at data from the last two weeks. We have had an eight fold infection rate increase in our area in the past 4 weeks.

It's pretty obvious that those with Trump style leadership(like Macomb County led by fake Dem Mark Hack[el]) are suffering with higher positive rates per capita. Macomb is running above 17% for COVID positive rates while Oakland and Wayne Counties are right around 13%. Seems like real Democratic leaders are showing the way to fight the virus.
