He’s 85... so realistically with this event it could be any time now...

Hmmm. This sounds like somebody else who is just a little younger. You have deep contempt for your elders. Did you learn that in grade school, high school, college, or all of the above?

I do not have deep contempt for anybody. As for sounding like somebody else... Trump is 74 and regularly slurs his words and shows signs of a possible stroke...

I owe Ron Paul a lot for having my eyes opened about the Iraq War. I don't agree with his son on a lot, but I wish him a speedy recovery. He's part of the reason I made the transition away from the Republican Party.

Exodus 20:12

King James Version

12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that THY (YOUR) days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth THEE (YOU).

This means that YOU should respect YOUR elders, lest YOUR life be lessened by YOUR sin of disrespect for them.

We all have our moments, but you should ask them for forgiveness, and continue to ask them to forgive you for your disrespect, even after they depart the earth.

If you want to have that as your guiding principle be my guest. I take a more philosophical view of Christianity that doesn’t involve pointing to a verse and saying “SEE!!!”...

I wish him speedy recovery. A friend of mine, 57 years old, suffered a stroke 11 days ago. He will be laid to rest tomorrow.

I've always liked Ron Paul. A decent man.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it.

Wow, the OP didn't wish upon him death and that he'd take others with him straight to hell. I'm almost impressed.

"op" is short for "original poster" - as in, the person who created the post. Internet slang that's been around forever.

In all seriousness, I hope Ron Paul fully recovers. I don't always agree with him politically, but he's a man of principal - an increasingly rare breed in the world of politics.
