Actually it would be perfectly constitutional for them to simply appoint a slate of electors directly. They can be committed to whoever the legislature directs. Doesn’t have to be the state winner. There are numerous reports that they are considering this option. As long as both legislatures are Republican this is possible. 6 swing states could decide to do this and send Trump electors in a state Biden won. In the Democrats' opinion, in 2016, they didn't cheat enough to win. It's been that way since at least as far back as 1948 when Dewey in fact DID defeat Truman before the Daley operatives changed the result. Communists have always tampered with elections. In 1960, Chicago operatives changed the result for Kennedy to appear to win. The positive thing was that Kennedy was the last Democrat who at least loved America.
