Disagreeing with Communists is NOT an impeachable offense.

Turkey Trot may get disgruntled over what I'm about to say. But talk to any Americans that have lived over there for awhile because of work or school, and I'm sure they will agree.
I can personally attest Canadians have had an attitude towards Americans for at least 50 years.
Once they find out you are from the states, the way they treat you and act around you completely changes.
My family has had a cottage on the Canadian side of Lake St. Clair since 1965. Every American that has spent time over there will tell you. Back when cash was what everyone used, and the exchange was in their favor, the stores would bone you on the exchange. Go out a restaurant in Belle River or Tecumseh, terrible service if they knew we were from the states.
My dad would always get a wad of Canadian cash on this side of the river before he went over. Or stop in Windsor and exchange the money before he come into Emeryville (where the cottage actually is). Once we showed a greenback from the states to a business, it was like a light being flipped off, that's how noticeable the attitude and service would change.
Like I said in the second sentence, find an American that has stayed over there for some reason. Or has property over there. I'm sure they will agree with what I'm saying.
The only place they act friendly is to take your money at the casino.

I always advise people to exchange their currency at the border. The merchants and restaurants here rip you off seriously on the exchange rate.
Right now, the U.S. dollar is worth about $1.34 CDN. At a store or restaurant here, they allow you about $1.20.
It's called capitalism.

We were supposed to go to Stratford this week, a trip we've made at least once a year for about three decades.
In all those trips, not once have we ever felt less than welcomed by every single Canadian we dealt with.
We do generally get -- and spend -- Canadian currency, but I don't think that has much to do with it.

Canadian businesses love to get U.S. currency, so they can rip you off on the exchange rate.

I would concur. I always felt welcome, except one place in Quebec where they claimed only to Parlez Français. We pulled out a US dollar and they learned to speak English really quick!Vic Doucette wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 2:24 pmWe were supposed to go to Stratford this week, a trip we've made at least once a year for about three decades.

Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!

I have no use for that third world country. Canada’s major cities are dumps with drugs and prostitution and the cities actually stink like human waste. Toronto smells like someone was urinating in the streets.
