Scrabble bans 225 offensive words

The newest comer to the politically correct bandwagon is Hasboro. They are banning 225 "offensive" words from competitive play.

Here is the list of banned words:

Unfortunately they're all scrambled. Looks like a fun word scramble.

Want to tell us EXACTLY HOW they are going to enforce this? Spying with cell phones and devices perhaps?

Not for the home game - this is for Scrabble competitions. There are worldwide competitions every year. So now are competitors supposed to study this list and learn what words they can no longer use?

btw I tracked down the actual list. Here it is, minus most plurals and variations:

(and I have to admit, I've never heard some of these)...

baldie
baywop
blowjob
boche
bogtrotter
bohunk
bubba
buckra
bumboy
butches
crip
crips
culchie
culshier
cunt
dogan
faggot
fatso
gadje
gadjo
ginzo
graybeard
gringa
gringo
haole
hicksville
honkey
honky
hos
hunkey
hunkie
jailbait
jesuit
jew
jewed
jews
jigaboo
kanaka
les
lesbo
lez
lezzie
lezzy
mick
mulatto
nance
nancy
nigger
nonpapist
ofay
papism
papist
papistry
pepsi
picaninny
pickney
polack
pommie
poncey
poofier
pooftah
poofter
poofy
poontang
poove
popery
popish
raghead
redneck
schvartze
sheeney
shegetz
shemale
shicksa
shikse
skimo
spaz
spazz
vendu
wetback
whities

Now I have to comment on a few of these:

-pepsi? I always thought of Pepsi as a brand of soda. I had no idea it was a slur in Canada. Is Pepsi going to have to change its name now?

-spazz? I had no idea this was a slur. I remember it being used by kids in school - ie, someone "spazzing out."

-fatso? Come on, really?

-shicksa? That word was used in a Seinfeld epsiode.

-poofy? Isn't that a hairstyle? That's offensive?

-redneck? I seriously doubt anybody considers this "offensive"

They've banned both cunt and its plural form cunts.

This will definitely have far-reaching implications.

I remember back in 2016, I was embroiled in an INTENSE game of high-stakes Scrabble. $30,000 a game. The bag was empty and I was down by 4. Person across from me had used all their tiles. I looked down and a N-G-G-E-R left. If I wasn't able to say "NIGGER", I would have lost my mortgage.

Here's an easy idea: Don't play scrabble competitively.

Remember when the entire football economy lost it's mind over a play kneeing?

This is kind of like that.

The NFL finally apologized, but I don't think Scrabble will have to do that.
