The Trump administration projects about 3,000 daily deaths by early June.
As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.

The projections, based on modeling by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and pulled together in chart form by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, forecast about 200,000 new cases each day by the end of the month, up from about 25,000 cases now.

The numbers underscore a sobering reality: While the United States has been hunkered down for the past seven weeks, not much has changed. And the reopening to the economy will make matters worse.

To be accurate step one in his guidelines was 14 days of declining cases was it not?
None of those states met that first step did they?

I agree, sort of an unintentional and tragic herd immunity.

Herd Immunity is going to need to happen, but it needs to happen deliberately, not but leaving it up to nature and killing thousands that don't need to die. This is your idea of herd immunity, and it is self-centered and does not take your neighbors into consideration as to their mortality.

Michigan is presently 6th in deaths per capita (407 per 1 million in population) behind New York (1268), New Jersey (895), Connecticut (697), Massachusetts (599), and Louisiana (443). South Dakota has suffered 24 deaths per million.

CDC is predicting 130,000+ deaths this round which is within the predictions scientists made in early March.
