Lindsey Graham has the notion the United States should refuse to pay our national debt held by China apparently because China caused the coronavirus.

A couple of thoughts. First, even if it were possible, who's to say China doesn't simply call in all our debt to them. All of it. Now. Sure, we could pull out our pants pockets, watch the moths fly out and tell 'em we're a little light this month. China then sends a couple of guys to hold us upside down and start shaking the money loose, and by that I mean goodbye Apple, GM, Nike and countless other US companies doing business there. It would make the tariff kerfuffle look like a picnic and the current economic impact of C-19 like a football tailgater.

Second. I can guarantee you his comments didn't come out of a vacuum. This has Trump*'s fingerprints all over it. Stiff those who you owe money to, it's the way he's done business for decades.
