trumps daily campaign rallies

when FEMA was not at a recent COVID-19 briefing, it occurred to me these are nothing more than mini-campaign rallies. why else would it take 99 minutes to say nothing? Wait, that is trumps specialty

Good observation.
At least this time local taxpayers didn't get shafted for his non-payment of reimbursement for law enforcement protection.

I have had a lot of experience with FEMA and NIMS(National Incident Management System). If trump had not driven the professionals from FEMA, we would be in much better shape

How well did those "professionals" do with Katrina?

Katrina gave a 6 day window and even then I don’t know that anybody realized how bad it would be sitting there dumping rain like it did. This thing had a 3 month lead time and the warnings from the experts were ignored and they turned out to be right. Kinda two different situations.

Each situation has a different set of circumstances. The poor outcome in Katrina came from catastrophic infrastructure failure, not piss poor planning.

Hillary Clinton just posted on Twitter:

"Please do not take medical advice from a man who looked directly at a solar eclipse."

I’ll second that and for god sakes let’s not just reopen the economy over all the experts protests... its only gonna make this worse.

If somebody other than Hillary had made that comment I might have chuckled. But let's be honest here - Hillary Clinton is probably the most irrelevant high-profile person on the planet right now.

trumps call for having the country up and running by Easter is nothing less than begging for the 25th Amendment

2 things:

First, that is a GOAL. Doesn't mean it will happen if conditions don't permit.
Second, I'm sure he won't literally just open everything up without restriction.
Third (ok, 3 things) - State governors still ultimately have more authority than Trump. Whitmer and other governors can keep their states in lockdown for as long as they see fit.
