Senate Justification

Mario Rudio of Florida wrote: "Just because actions meet a standard of impeachment does not mean it is in the best interest of the country to remove a president from office," he wrote.
Rob Portman of Ohio wrote: Portman said in a statement that Trump's "actions in this case — including asking a foreign country to investigate a potential political opponent and the delay of aid to Ukraine — were wrong and inappropriate." In doing so, he both criticized Trump and said in broad terms that the president had done what was alleged. Portman staked his decision to vote for acquittal on the very specific idea that Trump shouldn't be removed "in the middle of an election" based on the charges for which he was impeached.
So basically he did it. Wouldn’t you call this jury nullification?

They are bending into a pretzel trying to excuse a vote against something they admit should have happened.

All evidence regarding the very impeached President Dump - and his very serious abuse of power, and obstruction of congress, will continue to come out. Right up until election day. Which will keep the voter’s minds on what he did to our constitution, and what nearly all republican senators did - in voting against the wishes of 75% of Americans - that the senate trial include new witness “under oath” testimony, and documents.

That giant screw you will not be forgotten by that 75%. And they will vote to Dump Trump. As well as all those senators. Who will be very angry.

And after Dump is dumped, and both the House and Senate are voted majority blue - a lot of legislation will be passed to ensure traditions, norms, laws, rules, policies, agencies, etc that were assumed, American, necessary, and honored - will be restored.
