I thought you were against "shooting from the hip" or just taking things as they come?
Usually... I am actually completely at a loss and playing devils advocate is getting kind of hard over here.. The Kentucky Derby was just cancelled for the first time since 1945.

These governors banning assembly and forcing businesses to close should be recalled. This is government overreach to a T. Let the people decide where they want to go and how to spend their time, not elected officials and their cronies.

For the record, my personal worry level is still at zero.

They were afforded this power during national emergencies back in “the good old days” when people trusted their government in situations like this instead of undermining it.

The governor must reimburse affected businesses for her closure order, unless it is covered by insurance.

You would need business loss insurance, because there was no physical damage.

I agree with this in principle.

This could take a few different forms. Zero interest or low interest loans, enhanced unemployment insurance for employees, property tax holidays, or executive orders preventing foreclosures or assessment of default interest rates for a period of time.

I will note, however, that certain businesses that were permitted - and chose - to remain open have witnessed a big decline in customer traffic due to people electively choosing to avoid social interaction. I think small businesses who have encountered such conditions should similarly be able to receive some form of aid.

Partially agree, I would take it one step further - this amounts to taking without compensation.

If y'all have a minute I think it's well worth the time to hop over to reddit and read Bill Gates AMA (Ask Me Anything) concerning the virus. Lot's of excellent info. Here's the link:

Does this mean I can sue a business for reckless practices which leads to my illness?
