What Would They Say?

President Trump announced via Twitter that the Navy will not investigate and discipline a Navy SEAL, despite the actions of the Secretary of the Navy, who then gets fired because he would not do what the President says.

Please replace "Trump" with "Obama" and tell me how Fox News would handle this story.

I think the Secretary got dumped because he did an end-around around the Defense Secretary. That probably pissed him off good.

Gee, I'm not certain. What did they say when Obama fired;
US Afghan commander Stanley McChrystal? or...
Gen. Carter Ham, head of U.S. Africa Command?
Rear Adm. Chuck Gaouette, commander of the John C. Stennis Carrier Strike Group?
Maj. Gen. Michael Carey, head of the 20th Air Force?
Vice Adm. Tim Giardina, the No. 2 officer at U.S. Strategic Command?

All basically relieved of duty for insubordination.

I survived four years of Carter. I imagine I can survive one year of Biden and three years of Harris.

and probably because those guys were more focused on training their teams for their military responsibilities instead of some kind of "sensitivity" training.

Bottom line: If US military men and women commit war crimes - it’s A-OK with mentally ill Donald Trump.

Of course it is!

He’s a five time draft dodger. He doesn’t give a damn about justice for ANY person - military or otherwise.

His only exception to his disdain for justice is - when he sees himself as a victim of authority. Whether law, rule, morality, principle, sacred tradition, honor, sacred trust, or person of authority.

Plus he’s in “win any way possible” mode as he hurls toward the 2020 presidential election. So everything he does is with an eye on winning the race. He wants to look tough to those who can’t see his cowardice - so he defends US war criminals as Americans who hate our enemies so much - anything goes in how we engage them. No limits. No honor. No humanity.

Just overkill.

And then some.

Our unique reputation before the world - be damned.

War crime? What war crime was Eddie convicted of again?

I can certainly admire your loyalty here. The Chief was convicted of a lesser charge that was technically a war crime and carried a jail sentence. The President is throughly within his Constitutional rights to do what he did.

But overall, shouldn't there be higher standards for those we entrust with the weapons of war?

Most people have no idea what it is like to fight this war. This enemy plays by no rules. They are sick and twisted; purely evil. So yes, I am more than willing to forgive the men and women that are immersed in this battle, and see and live the atrocities these Islamic reprobates perpetuate on a daily basis, for stepping a bit over the line. The old saying "fight fire with fire" comes to mind. Instead of being prosecuted, he should have been given a medal.

As far a T Rumps leadership, compare the results achieved in the war on terror during the past three years to the prior eight. Talk to the men and women in the military, especially those on the front lines (not the bureaucrats or political appointees) that are tasked with taking out the radical Islamic terror threat, to a person they appreciate the CIC.

Trump - as he does with every single American institution - has now interfered with the US military’s system of justice. This is not about one or two cases. It’s about injecting doubt into the system. Pulling the rug out from underneath yet another American institution. All such predictable moves by charismatic dictators are meant to STRIP power from such institutions - and consolidate ALL powers in him.

Trump’s strip show continues.

Yeah, and Lincoln interfered with States Rights. Some things need to be interfered with when it's wrong.

Replace Islamic with Jewish and you’ve defined the underlying reasoning of the Holocaust.

And yes that does seems a little dramatic and perhaps overblown but it does come from a belief in the rule of law. And a belief if we fight like them we become like them. You have a Happy Thanksgiving.

And a Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too.

Your premise is faulty. Jews did not perpetuate horrendous acts of violence against others in the name of Judaism. Jews didn't declare war or slaughter thousands of Germans in a terror attack. Etc. etc. etc.

Blame the criminals, not the religion. Until we realize that just because criminals use their religion as a reason for their crimes, we can't paint all of those from that religion with the same brush. We don't do that with Christians -

Hitler believed that Jews were behind a poison gas attack on Germany during World War One.

Why did Hitler Hate the Jews?

It's a fair argument.

Nope, try again.
Imaginative explanations

There are countless imaginative explanations for the reasons for Hitler's antisemitism. Hitler is said to be have been ashamed of his partly Jewish roots. Another explanation links his hatred of Jews to trauma caused by a poison gas attack in the First World War. Yet other theories suggest that Hitler had contracted a venereal disease from a Jewish prostitute. There are, however, no facts to support these explanations.

I'm thinking if you talk to the men and women of the military and ask them how they feel about Trump essentially rendering the Geneva Convention card they carry into combat with the hope and chance they'll be treated humanely if captured useless, you're likely going to get an answer very different than your little low rent keyboard Patton word salad.
