Why people hate cops

Officer Rivieri is a test case of why weak, paranoid, power-hungry, fat, ugly people should not go into law enforcement.

Weak, paranoid, power-hungry. Ok.

Fat, ugly? So it is your opinion that "fat, ugly" people should be limited to certain occupations?

As an interesting aside - have you ever considered the mental and emotional profile differences between those who want to be firefighters and those who want to be police officers?
That’s a good observation.

I haven’t seen a firefighter who thought they were better than someone else or bullied them because of their occupation.

Firefighters are lazy, but mostly harmless. They use their axes to rescue people and property. It’s the opposite of what cops do with their weapons.

Cop's reckless driving causes a fatality; gets off easy with a misdemeanor.

Like usual, the lazy news media probably will fail to report the findings of MSP's "investigation" and whether or not this officer is still on the force.

I hope the family of the 26 year old man who was killed through no fault of his own sues the living snot out of the Michigan State Police.

Can someone explain to me why on earth the MSP is responding to a petty shoplifting incident in the first place? Shouldn't that be the role of either the local PD or the Clinton County Sheriff's Office?
Very good observation.

Reporters handle cops with kid gloves because they know if they treat them favorably, they’ll get a scoop on a future story. If they actually ask them tough questions and hold them accountable, they get blacklisted by the department and the other stations that kiss cops butts get the sound bite.

Many reporters and anchors are literally in bed with cops, which creates a conflict of interest when cops misbehave.

A preventable death caused by a cop, misdemeanor.

Snow blowing off a private citizen’s vehicle, misdemeanor.

Seems about right.

I wonder why there’s no public outcry when police departments go to encrypted radio communications.

How do you think it would be received if a governor you didn’t vote for all of a sudden made their communications inaccessible to the public with the paranoid excuse of “derp, da bad guys will know where we are”?

For some reason, cops get away with this and nobody bats an eye.

And talk about speaking out of both sides of their mouths. They whine, pee, and moan about “We need more police presence! The more cops out there, the better! People don’t commit crimes when police are around!”

In the same conversation it’s also a paranoid, “We have to make our communications unavailable to the public because if bad guys know where we are, more crime will be committed!”

See the ignorance!
