Yeah. If the city has to keep cleaning off graffiti or even resetting the star or repairing the walkway around it it’s probably becoming expensive and time consuming and a constant problem.
I can see why a reality TV celebrity would NOT engender rage and destruction or defacement, but his new worldwide reputation largely as a force of deadly or traumatic evil WOULD lead to destructive public reactions.
Probably makes more sense for the city to remove it and gift it to Trump as a keepsake.
During his term the public display of the Trump name on buildings
has been removed in several locations.
