Socialist Lawn Enforcement

Post by TC Shuts Up » Mon Aug 19, 2019 11:15 am

Here's what happens when Socialists by any other name are given power. They destroy people. It's what they do. It's what they've always done all over the world.

After this story went viral this past spring, the city hired a PR firm for a one-month contract worth $25,000 - nearly the amount they fined this home owner.

https://www.abcactionnews.com/news/loca ... -attention

And more recently, John Stossel covered this story https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjV2autXVTc

For anyone curious - this court case is ongoing. https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/15 ... n-florida/ Looks like it is headed to mediation.

If this proceeds to trial, the city will almost certainly lose for failure to take proper care under the circumstances as they could have just hired an outside firm to mow his grass and sent him a bill for a hundred bucks. This is how our city handles such violations. Letting the fines rack up to that insane amount of money when the city had far cheaper options at their disposal to remedy the issue constitutes an abuse of power, IMO. Also, I don't know what is typical for a city to levy in fines in a given year, but $1,300,000 sounds a bit excessive for a city of 36,000 people.

Been spending my winters in Florida, never realizing it's a socialist state. Why didn't someone warn me?

Dunedin is 446 miles from Niceville.

They are a long ways from Niceville, and a long ways from nice, in Dunedin.

My Northern European genes do not like hot weather, so it is unlikely I would move or even visit there.

A lobster never realizes that the water is getting hot until it's too late and it's cooked and dead. The weather in Florida, or Incremental Socialism is the same .

Alaskans and Hawaiians I've heard, don't care much about new Federal Regulations, because Washington, DC is too far away to enforce a lot of them. They just ignore the ones they can't possibly enforce, and keep a low profile. I also hear that Greenland is nice this time of year.

Yes, and with climate change it would be a perfect location for a future Trump golf resort. To bad they won't sell it to him.

The city of Dunedin should be glad he didn't get angry enough to use some ordinance of his own.

TT goes off about Revenue Canada every year, but it's all big government, or socialism.

Guess you haven't heard it yet. Canada isn't a socialist country. We're living under a corrupt, extreme right, pro-capitalist, anti-working class liberal regime. On October 21, we're going to fix that.

Guess you haven't heard it yet. Canada isn't an entirely socialist country yet. We're living under a corrupt liberal regime. On October 21, we're going to become Venezuela.

Sorry. I guess criticism of liberals hurts you. Especially when they're kinfolks.

LOL!

I have repeatedly criticized Trudeau and said I was embarrassed that I was related even though he doesn't know who I am.

A lot of governmental bodies love enriching themselves from civil asset forfeiture, and in some cases, foreclosure.

It's sickening.

The excessive fines need to be overturned by a judge.
