I don't know about "to the brink"... a little mellow dramatic much?audiophile wrote:Michigan recount could cost taxpayers 12 million in Michigan...

What a waste...counties that are already running in the red will be pushed to the brink.

Genesee / Flint is on the brink with the replacement of lead lines. The former treasurer (a democrat) is really PO'd at Jill Stein and the waste of money this causing them.
Ask not what your country can do FOR you; ask what they are about to do TO YOU!!
Re: RECOUNT in 3 SWING STATES - HERE WE GO!
Having a civil discourse is impossible when those engaged just rant and rave and make bizarre and misleading accusations. That's what has been happening since the election began and it continues on this board.
For those people who actually blame Donald Trump for the actions of others is pathetic and ignorant. That's like blaming President Obama for Police officers getting shot and killed. Exactly the same.
The rhetoric is out of hand because people refuse to look at both sides. In the case of this election, it's ridiculous that democrats refuse to move on. First they tried rioting, then they tried to get states to change their electoral college votes, then they sent out a petition on moveon.org to change the winner of the election to the person with the popular vote,... now they're getting a recount... when every single report out there says there is no evidence of hacking or tampering.
This out of hand poor sport/sore loser syndrome is out of control. But it's ok for Democrats because they're entitled to whatever they want, right? Apparently.
The Green Party has distanced itself from Jill Stein. Even they agree this is ridiculous.

That's 1 out of 83... sneezing would put them over the brink at this point anyways...audiophile wrote:Genesee / Flint is on the brink with the replacement of lead lines. The former treasurer (a democrat) is really PO'd at Jill Stein and the waste of money this causing them.

Remember (not that you care) that what sparked this was a call on the part of some academics for AUDITS (very different than a recount) to ensure things didn't get messed with because they noticed some very odd results in some rural precincts... they never called for a recount. Stein & Co. took it upon themselves to hijack the thing.radiodoc wrote:Having a civil discourse is impossible when those engaged just rant and rave and make bizarre and misleading accusations. This is exactly what I was afraid of. This an unnecessary expense for which we all will pick up the tab. The irony in the case of Genessee county is that lower-income citizens already affected by the water crisis (many of whom I would guess didn't vote for Mr. Trump in the first place) will feel the pinch if the county has to drop additional funds for this.audiophile wrote:Genesee / Flint is on the brink with the replacement of lead lines. If Jill Stein wants a manual recount, let her pay for it out of her own pocket. Leave the taxpayers alone.

A county is not "counties will be pushed to the brink"... where does that $800,000 it costs to file for a recount go? Requesting one is not free...audiophile wrote:Tacit admission that it is not mellow-dramatic then...NS8401 wrote:That's 1 out of 83... sneezing would put them over the brink at this point anyways...audiophile wrote:Genesee / Flint is on the brink with the replacement of lead lines. A possible $12,000,000 out?
Sounds like a good deal to me!
Even if the net cost of a recount is $100,000, that's a tab the taxpayers should not be stuck with absent of probable cause.

The Donald has filed an objection to Michigans recount.
Re: RECOUNT in 3 SWING STATES - HERE WE GO!
After predicting massive voter fraud, and after alleging that massive voter fraud had robbed him of popular vote, you would think he would welcome a recount.NS8401 wrote:The Donald has filed an objection to Michigans recount.

Many of the fear-based, hateful, and divisive beliefs spouted by Donald Trump since successfully manipulating many Americans with his television-honed charisma, and self-centered addiction to power are historic FIRSTS in any nominee's presidential campaign - and now presidency.
Among all of those firsts was a shocking show of admiration for Dictator "Vlad-the-Invader" Putin and more than one asserted campaign connection to the Russian government.
I am dead set interested in knowing what our national security agencies and Obama have learned about these through investigation - because if our election integrity has been compromised by Russian government hacks, or other Russian vicarious and secret manipulations - then every American needs to understand the serious nature of such a revelation and confirmation. AND become angry and determined to prevent such election rigging in the future.
Decades ago The Soviet Union threatened to destroy our nation from within. All citizens need to demand complete clarity about this situation - a historic FIRST - linked to a U-S presidential election.
If the recounts are one aspect of protecting free election integrity - we should get on with it. And not stop there.

If the Democrats are so modern, savvy and smart, why the heck did they get hacked all the time?
Hillary couldn't get email right or figure out how to drive a car. For Hillary to lose to Trump is simply amazing.
Face it - they really couldn't get anything right...

She's not the first... Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford and HW Bush had their own famous "Whats that?" moments...audiophile wrote:If the Democrats are so modern, savvy and smart, why the heck did they get hacked all the time?
