Big game tonight. My Capitals against Penguins for a wild card spot in Metropolitan. If they win, they best the Red Wings record.
How'd they do?
I'm old enough to remember when he said he didn't watch sports.

The only good news for the Wings is that the Flyers are collapsing and so the third spot in the Metropolitan division is back up for grabs.

83 Flyers
83 Islanders
82 Capitals
82 Red Wings
81 Penguins

5 teams within 2 points of each other fighting for 2 playoff spots with Detroit the only team ineligible for the Metropolitan spot.

Detroit plays the Capitals and Penguins back-to-back on April 9 and 11. I predict if their destiny hinges on being able to get at least 3 points out of those 2 games combined.

They embarrassed themselves. Last time they played, it was Caps 6-0.

I love it when sports "fans" use terms like "my" Capitals. I've been a Wings fan forever. My dad took me to games at the Olympia before I could walk. But since his last name wasn't Illitch, I wouldn't dare refer to them as My Red Wings.

When I lived in Colorado, people used to speak about Elway like he was their child or brother.

Assumed ownership is part of spectatorship.

I usually don't, my kid got me hooked. And I've been watching curling forever.

Despite their 3-1 win yesterday, the Wings surrendered 39 shots from the Sabres. Can’t win on your heels like that. Got bailed out by good goaltending.

And MY Capitals bested the Wings tonight. OVIE set a new record.

Wings win in thrilling fashion in Toronto in first :40 of OT! Larkin scored the game winner.

Sure would've been nice to win against the Caps earlier in the week.

After seeing they were up 4-1 and then tied 4-4, I thought for sure they were going to blow it and end their season tonight.

Penguins currently losing to the Bruins. Detroit should end the night tied for the last wild card spot. Too bad they have the fewest regulation wins of those fighting for the last spot (unless the Islanders lose their last 2 and fall out of 3rd place in their conference). They pretty much gotta close out the season with 2 wins over Montreal.

What a win! Back from the dead.

A shame they still need help in the final game.

Yeah, too bad the 109 point Bruins didn't help us out.

Helluva comeback win in any case! Most exciting game I've seen all season. That leap at the blue line to keep the puck in the zone was special! :D
