Iowa has the 7th best defense in the nation. Alabama, as a point of comparison, is 16th.
And we have a lackluster offense. So 7th or 16th coupled with an offense that can score 40+ easily is not a winning formula for us. The problem is that the big ten has 4 teams that are good and we NEVER play anyone that’s worth a damn outside of conference. That leads us into situations where we get rolled bad by good out of conference teams with a resume that’s been overinflated by playing absolute garbage teams all year long.

The referees ruled correctly on the review. That was absolutely a fumble by the Iowa QB. Joel Klatt on FOX seems like a nice guy but he espouses stupidity at times.

Kudos to Harbaugh for forcing the review that changed the incomplete pass to a ruling of a fumble by Iowa and recovery by Michigan.
Have to disagree - hand was clearly moving forward. And certainly not enough evidence to overturn.

It’s pretty clear on the replay in slow motion that his hand was coming forward ever so slightly.
I disagree. His arm was straight up when he lost control.
It started back farther. Forward is forward. Their rules analyst pointed it out pretty convincingly. The “recovery” looked rather silly to me and we got fortunate that our guy picked it up.

If you expect Washington, Texas or Alabama to not score while we get lucky on touchdowns you’re completely nuts. If we play like this we will be absolutely blown into next season.

We should win this game. But without a fumble and an 80 some yard punt return it would be 3-0.
Why should those great plays be discounted?
They shouldn't be discounted but it's an indication the offense is ineffective.

The B1G 10 half time show is a Dr Pepper contest? Cutting edge stuff.
SEC has the same thing. CFP championship game has the same thing.

I'm just happy it wasn't a Jack Harlow concert! 😁
(THAT was barf worthy; thankfully my family hadn't eaten Thanksgiving dinner yet. The Lions should be embarrassed.)

Yeah that was tragic, it's probably why they lost.

The offense has genuinely struggled for a few weeks now…

I agree that Michigan's offense needs to be more potent in order for the team to have a decent chance of winning a CFP contest.

Corum is nowhere nearly as effective this season as last season, in my opinion. Other teams have figured him out. Last year, he was sensational. This year, he is merely good. He hasn't done much of anything tonight. I think Edwards is underutilized.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.

Boy, there sure is a lot of whining in this thread.

Michigan's scored 23 pts vs a team with one of the top defenses in the country, while shutting them out. They have multiple injured starters and the bumps and bruises that come with a season. They are recovering fumbles, disrupting the offense, and at no point in this B1G championship game against a rated opponent has it seemed as though their opponent has any chance. They're covering the spread, so they are overperforming. Its no foregone conclusion that they will win the Natty but Jesus, reading this thread it seems like the posters here think that this should be like playing Madden on rookie. Sit back and enjoy this.

Iowa may have a highly-rated defense on paper but let's not forget they played in the BIG 10 west which everybody scoffed at.

💯

Iowa never had a chance. Michigan has defeated 3 of the top 7 defenses in the country in 3 out of 4 games.

Let's also not forget that were it not for a couple fortuitous events we would have won 12-0. I'm sure the other potential playoff teams are quaking in their boots at having to score two touchdowns to overcome our offense.
