At a minimum, this includes Illinois and Purdue. Does Pat Fitzgerald qualify as a former staffer?

Additionally, Michigan installed privacy fences around the outdoor practice field next to the Al Glick Fieldhouse this summer after practices were allegedly illegally recorded (not in this article, but that will likely come out): https://wolverineswire.usatoday.com/202 ... ice-field/

Stealing signs isn't cheating.

None of it diminishes what Michigan did. It's all an attempt to divert attention and make less intelligent people think that Michigan didn't do what it obviously did.

Bottom line: It's now been weeks since the NCAA took electronics to investigate. They clearly have the goods. The question isn't whether Michigan is penalized, only a matter of degree of penalty. Michigan people can squawk all they want, but regardless of penalty, they cheated. That's Harbaugh's legacy.

In-person scouting of an opponent is illegal (a truly stupid rule especially if we are talking someone sitting in the stands at a public event attended by tens of thousands - but rules are rules); sign stealing itself is not.

Purdue's medical protocol for treating injured players on opposing teams is so shitty that Harbaugh and Urban Meyer co-signed a letter to the league front office several years back. That speaks volumes.

It’s legal to steal signs as long as you’re not sending people to other games, and filming their sideline. This is Michigan trying to deflect and control the narrative.

I will say there is little doubt in my mind that was Stalions standing with CMU's coaching staff at Spartan Stadium.

CMU would've denied it was him within 24 hours if it weren't him.

It would not at all surprise me if someone on CMU's coaching staff invited him to be there.

Who knew the AP was in cahoots with Michigan posting fake stories to deflect? Thanks Honeyman for pointing that out.

I think some of these coaches who are haranguing Harbaugh likely have the honesty of the stereotypical used car salesman.

This is getting ridiculous as hell and its reminding me of the spiderman meme with a dozen spidermen pointing at each other calling one another a cheater. There's a lot worse a team can do than steal signs. Just stop.

Question:
Why don't teams assume their signals are being stolen and just learn to play better?

I think this whole "scandal" is ridiculous and good teams will keep winning. BTW, poor teams will keep whining.

Am I missing something about sports?

Yes, there are rules in place in sports. When rules are broken, penalties can be assessed based on the infraction.

I believe your local library should have a collection of "Sports for Dummies" books if you are interested in learning more.
